Yes, Sling TV carries some local channels—but availability depends on your ZIP code and plan. Sling lists select local stations with Blue, Select, Essentials & Select, and Orange & Blue in eligible areas; Orange alone does not include local channels. Which local channels can you get with Sling?
Sling does not provide the same local affiliates everywhere. Its support page lists FOX markets and offers a ZIP-code lookup; the static market list is not a complete, address-specific answer for every station. Confirm the exact affiliate and plan using the lookup rather than assuming a nearby city or market has the same lineup.

Check Sling availability before subscribing
- Open Sling’s local channels help page and enter your ZIP code in its availability checker.
- Confirm the station or affiliate you actually want, and check which eligible plan includes it. Do not infer availability from a different ZIP code or from the general plan name.
- If a local station is included but missing from your Sling guide, check Settings → Location in the app and confirm or update the location. If you cannot edit it, Sling recommends restarting your router.
If Sling does not carry the station, try an antenna
An over-the-air (OTA) antenna is the main alternative when Sling does not offer the desired local station. Sling says most people can watch local channels on a TV for free with an antenna, but reception varies by address and signal conditions. Use the FCC reception-check link provided by Sling before buying equipment; an outdoor antenna may help in some situations.
For the simplest setup, connect a compatible antenna directly to the TV and scan for channels. AirTV is not required for this arrangement. Depending on the device and setup, antenna channels may be available only through the TV input or on the device physically connected to the antenna rather than in the Sling guide.

- Want one specific affiliate? First verify that exact station at your ZIP in Sling’s checker. If it is not listed, check antenna reception for your address.
- Want the fewest devices? Connect an antenna directly to a TV if reception is adequate and watching through the TV input works for you.
- Want antenna channels in Sling on compatible devices? Consider AirTV, understanding that it adds hardware and network requirements.
- Need to record? Sling’s subscription DVR records included Sling channels, not OTA stations added to the guide. Use an AirTV local-recording option if you want to record antenna channels.
