In Slayers 2, progress in a sensible sequence: finish the opening quests, learn the map and movement tools, choose Slayer or Demon, then build the matching abilities and gear. If you choose Slayer, prepare for Final Selection before moving on to later zones. Keep leveling, weapon upgrades, and skill development moving together; save long quest chains and Prestige for the appropriate stage. Exact gates and recommended levels vary across fan guides, so use the live quest prompts as the final authority.

What order should you follow?

  1. Complete the opening village and tutorial quests. Follow the early NPC handoffs and learn the combat basics before chasing a distant level target.
  2. Get oriented and unlock useful movement. The September 2026 progression hub recommends completing the Lost Pages/Book of Guidance steps and unlocking map tools before traveling to trainers or farming locations. Unlock Wall Climb and Double Jump when the route requires them. See the Slayers 2 Wiki progression guide.
  3. Choose a Slayer or Demon progression lane. Both routes share some early preparation, but the Slayer trial and Demon conversion are different paths. Skip Slayer-specific trial steps if you intend to become a Demon.
  4. Prepare the ability track for your route. The hub says human Breathing Styles are trainer-gated at level 25 and require style-specific materials; another fan guide treats Breathing Style or Demon Art as the core route ability. Check the chosen trainer’s current prerequisites in game rather than assuming the same gate applies to every style.
  5. Build readiness for Final Selection if you are a Slayer. One fan guide lists level 45 as an entry point and about level 60 as safer solo preparation; another describes the exam as a progression gate without confirming a level requirement. Treat those numbers as rough guide recommendations, not guaranteed unlock rules. Bring suitable weapons, stamina, healing, and a group if that helps your run.
  6. After the trial, move into the next zone. The progression guide places Map 2 after Final Selection. Continue into higher-tier spawns and quest hubs as starter-area rewards become less effective for your level.
  7. Develop a focused build while leveling. Put skill points into a planned branch and keep weapon mastery and upgrades progressing. These systems run alongside leveling; avoid scattering resources across unrelated upgrades without a build goal.
  8. Pursue long chains and endgame systems when appropriate. Slayer Mark is presented as a long-term quest chain. Prestige is a level-cap system that resets levels in exchange for permanent multipliers; verify the current reset and carry-over rules before committing.

How to choose a route and prepare

Decision What to weigh
Slayer or Demon Choose between the Slayer trial and Corps progression or Demon conversion. The route determines which unlocks and trial steps apply.
When to attempt Final Selection Consider survivability, weapon tier, healing, and ability preparation as well as level. Fan-guide level recommendations differ and are not confirmed universal gates.
What to do for experience Combine quest progression with repeatable mobs, bosses, or group activities that remain worthwhile in your current level band.
Where to invest Focus skill points and weapon progression around one build or upgrade plan instead of spreading resources across unrelated options.

Leveling bands reported by a fan guide

The Slayers 2 Wiki leveling page describes the following approximate activity bands and states a level cap of 225. These are guide recommendations, not official requirements, and can become outdated as the game changes. Consult the leveling guide and current in-game quests before planning around them.

Levels in the guide Suggested activities
1–15 Starter quests and nearby low-level mobs
16–30 Mix quest turn-ins with first group boss attempts
31–60 Final Selection, followed by Map 2
61–90 Denser Map 2 spawns and repeatable quests
91–140 Boss rotations and raids
141–200 High-tier spawns, bosses, and event experience windows
Stated level cap 225

A separate description on the same fan-guide site says quest and combat experience can be combined, and that multipliers from different sources may stack while effects from the same source replace rather than add. It does not provide traceable official telemetry for exact rates, so plan around the activity recommendations rather than unverified experience calculations.

What to verify in the live game

The available progression material comes from independent fan wikis and a community post, not official developer documentation. The guides differ on trial requirements and recommended levels, so treat precise thresholds as provisional. Follow current quest prompts and check the relevant NPC or system directly before spending materials or taking a level reset. The progression guide’s post-exam checklist is: “After the exam: Equip your Crow, develop Slayer Progress, and plan one weapon upgrade at a time.”
