No new paid Skyrim DLC drop for PS5 is confirmed. Bethesda’s August 20, 2026 update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition raises console mod-storage limits and includes Creations improvements and fixes. The PS5-specific patch note addresses Anniversary Edition Creations that failed to download automatically; Bethesda’s announcement does not describe a new expansion or story add-on. What Bethesda’s August 20 update changes
Bethesda describes the August 20, 2026 release as an update to Skyrim Special Edition that increases console mod-storage limits and brings further Creations improvements and fixes. The announcement does not list a newly released paid DLC pack. It also does not provide a storage figure or download size, so neither should be inferred from the general description. Bethesda’s update page
The patch notes call out one platform-specific fix: “Resolved an issue where Anniversary Edition Creations failed to auto-download on PlayStation 5.” That is a fix to delivery of existing Creations, not evidence that a new PS5 expansion launched. Bethesda’s August 20 patch notes
Update, Creations, and DLC are different things
The game update
A game update changes the software. Here, Bethesda identifies console mod-storage limits and Creations improvements and fixes as the update’s scope. The PS5 auto-download fix is a specific example in the notes.

Creations
Bethesda’s Creations feature brings existing Mods, Creation Club items, and new Creations into a unified menu, and Bethesda lists PlayStation 5 as a supported platform. Creations are community and curated game content accessed through that feature; the menu itself is not a new DLC release. Bethesda’s Creations announcement
Anniversary Edition content
Skyrim Anniversary Edition is an existing edition, not the name of the August 2026 update. Bethesda says it includes the Special Edition core game and add-ons plus Creation Club content, including quests, dungeons, bosses, weapons, and spells. Its original availability was November 11, 2021. PlayStation’s US product page likewise describes the edition as including the game and Creation Club content. Does the update require buying Anniversary Edition?
Bethesda’s update announcement does not say that purchasing Anniversary Edition is required to receive the game update. The update is described as an update to Skyrim Special Edition; Anniversary Edition is a separate edition with additional Creation Club content. The PS5 note is about auto-download behavior for Anniversary Edition Creations, not a purchase requirement for the update. Check the game’s update status on your console if the patch is not appearing; the cited announcement does not give a specific PS5 menu path or troubleshooting sequence.
If you are considering buying Anniversary Edition for PS5, treat that as a purchase of the existing game edition and its included content—not as a way to obtain a newly announced August 2026 DLC pack. The official product pages establish the edition and its contents, but do not establish current price, stock, physical format, or availability in every region. - Reawaken a Classic – Resident Evil 4 preserves the essence of the original game, now reconstructed using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine to deliver realistic visuals and additional narrative depth to the iconic story that was not possible at the time of the original release.
- Modernized Gameplay – The team from 2019’s Resident Evil 2 returns to build upon the series’ modern approach to survival horror. Engage in frenzied combat with the Ganados villagers, explore a European village gripped by madness, and solve puzzles to access new areas and collect useful items for Leon and Ashley’s constant struggle to survive.
- Overwhelming Hordes – Face hordes of rabid enemies that threaten to overwhelm Leon with even more diverse methods of attack than in the original release.
- Survive on a Knife’s Edge – Years of intense training have taught Leon new ways to use his knife, helping to even the odds against the unrelenting onslaught of enemies. By parrying enemy attacks, you can avoid debilitating damage and evade lunging enemies seeking to grab Leon and hold him in place. Make smart use of scavenged knives to deliver precise finishing moves on vulnerable enemies, and even use the element of surprise to quietly dispatch unsuspecting foes before they break.

What “biggest in years” gets wrong
Bethesda’s August 20 announcement identifies the update’s general changes but supplies no measurement or comparison supporting “biggest in years.” Without a defined measure—such as content volume, storage increase, or scope of code changes—the superlative cannot be treated as an established fact. The defensible description is a console storage and Creations update with a PS5-specific auto-download fix.
