Full Circle says it welcomes player creativity and is building official, secure tools for broader community creation—but those tools are not available yet, and the studio has announced no features or release date. Its October 9, 2026 update draws the boundary at mods that bypass game systems to unlock paid cosmetics, release gated or unreleased content, or profit from unauthorized assets. The statement follows attention around ReSkate, a fan-made platform that PC Gamer reported supports offline play and custom content.
What did Full Circle say about mods?
In its October 9, 2026 update, Full Circle said it understands players want more control over the game. “We hear you loud and clear on wanting more freedom and custom features,” the studio wrote. It described skateboarding as a community and creative pursuit, and said San Vansterdam was built as a place for players to have fun and create content.
The studio’s objection is not to all player-made changes. It says mods or other tools cross a line when they bypass game systems to unlock paid cosmetics, expose gated or unreleased content, or make money from unauthorized assets. Full Circle says this takes from artists, skate brands, creators, and its development team.
What official creation tools are coming?
Full Circle says it is building “official, secure access tools” for broader, deeper community creation. The update does not specify what those tools will let players do, when they will arrive, or whether they will support unrestricted modding. Treat this as a developer commitment, not a released feature or a promise that every kind of mod will be permitted.

PC Gamer reported more than 350,000 downloads in a few days, as of Tuesday during its October 2026 coverage. That is a time-bound reported download count—not an EA statistic, a count of unique users or active players, or a current total.

ReSkate’s creators told PC Gamer they were not trying to undermine Full Circle or replace the live game. Why does the live-service context matter?
EA announced skate. as a free-to-download Early Access game for console and PC storefronts, with an Early Access release date of September 16, 2025. In a live game with paid cosmetics and content that can be gated or unreleased, Full Circle’s stated distinction separates creative customization from tools that circumvent those systems. Players quoted in PC Gamer expressed interest in choices such as selecting any shirt color without waiting for a rotating release; that is an example of player sentiment, not a formal feature request tally.
