One person died and several others were injured in an incident at Six Flags Over Georgia on Monday, October 12, 2026. Investing.com reported that Six Flags Entertainment Corp. shares fell 8.8% to $10.87 in after-hours trading by 20:39 ET that day. The incident occurred Monday afternoon at Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell, Georgia, about 15 miles northwest of Atlanta. The Associated Press reported one death and several injuries; Cobb County also confirmed those figures in an October 12 statement.
Cobb County police detectives in the Major Crimes Unit were investigating. At the time of the reports, officials had not confirmed the cause of the death or injuries or described the sequence of events.

The AP reported that local television video showed passengers being evacuated from Goliath, but authorities and Six Flags had not identified which coaster was involved. The video does not establish that Goliath was the ride at the center of the incident.

Six Flags said it was cooperating with local authorities. A spokesperson told the AP, “We are deeply saddened by the guest incident at our park today,”
What the reported after-hours share move means
Investing.com reported that Six Flags Entertainment Corp. (NYSE: FUN) shares were down 8.8% at $10.87 in after-hours trading by 20:39 ET on Monday, October 12. Cobb County Chairwoman Lisa N. Cupid said the county was working with Six Flags and appropriate partners as the investigation proceeded. In the county’s October 12 statement, she said, “I cannot imagine the horror the patrons and employees witnessed today, and my heart aches for the family who lost a loved one.” She added: “Additional information will be released by law enforcement as it is confirmed.”
