The Sirius SM923520 is a 52 cm undermount rangehood, but the public information available does not establish how well it extracts air or how noisy it is in ducted use. CHOICE marks the model discontinued and withholds its core ducted test results from public view. For buyers, the practical checks are fit, ducting, and whether the specified carbon filters are available if you plan to recirculate air.

CHOICE lists the SM923520 as a 52 cm stainless-steel undermount rangehood with controls underneath, two LED lights, a metal anti-grease filter, one fan and four speed settings. Its listing recommends 150 mm ducting and gives a mounting height of 600–700 mm. CHOICE marks the model discontinued. That does not establish whether any particular retailer still has stock or whether parts remain available, so check both before committing to a purchase or repair. The listing shows a historical price of $859 AUD; it is not a current offer.
Can its extraction and noise performance be judged?
Not from the public listing. CHOICE identifies its test mode as ducted, but the Expert Rating, performance and ease-of-use results, noise score, and measured low- and high-speed noise levels are member-only. The public data therefore does not support a numerical performance verdict or a claim that the hood is quiet, loud, effective, or ineffective in ducted operation.

Do not substitute figures for the similar-looking SM923L520. Sirius/Arisit’s 2025 specification sheet for that distinct model gives 750 m³/h extraction, approximate noise of 45–70 dBA, and a recommended installation height of 600–750 mm. Which filter does it use?
For recirculating use, CHOICE lists two carbon filters, identifies the part as KF52 / SPS-6007092300, and reports a 66% score for recirculating mode. That score is separate from the unavailable ducted Expert Rating. CHOICE also lists an annual carbon-filter price of $177, but does not state when the filters should be replaced; the figure should not be treated as a current price.

- Cabinet fit: Confirm the actual hood width and required cut-out using the exact appliance and instructions. A nominal 52 cm width alone is not enough to determine whether it will fit.
- Mounting height: CHOICE lists 600–700 mm. Check the exact manual and the cooking appliance’s requirements before setting the position.
- Ducting: The SM923520 listing recommends 150 mm ducting. Confirm the route, outlet and any kit requirements for this model; a duct diameter recommendation does not establish what accessories are included.
- Operating mode: If you will recirculate rather than duct air outside, verify the carbon-filter part and availability before purchase.

- Stock and parts: Since CHOICE lists the model as discontinued, confirm the seller’s stock status and the availability of service parts before buying.
A device-reference page displays an electrical input of 220–240 V, 235 W and 50 Hz, alongside a certification record dated 2021-08-12 with an expiry date of 2026-08-12. Verdict: who should consider the SM923520?
The SM923520 may suit someone who has verified that this discontinued 52 cm hood fits their cabinet and can obtain the necessary filters or parts. The public evidence is not enough to recommend it on ducted extraction or noise performance: CHOICE’s key test results are not public.
