To sign out of a Samsung account, use the account settings on your Galaxy phone or tablet, Samsung Account settings on your TV, or the Samsung website on a computer. On a phone or tablet, signing out removes the account from that device; it does not permanently delete the account.
Sign out on a Galaxy phone or tablet
- Open Settings and tap your Samsung account name at the top.
- Scroll down and tap Sign out.
- Confirm, enter your Samsung account password, and tap OK.
If those labels are not available, try Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts > Samsung account > Remove account. Confirm the removal, then tap Sign out, enter your password, and tap OK. Samsung describes phone and tablet sign-out as removing the account from the device. Menu names can vary by carrier and software version, so use the closest matching account controls on your device. Samsung’s account-management instructions and account-removal instructions provide these routes.
What happens when you remove it from a phone or tablet?
Removing the account stops new Samsung account data from syncing and removes synced data from that device. Data stored locally on the device that was not synced with Samsung Cloud remains there. You can add the account again later; this device-level sign-out is not permanent account deletion. Samsung’s account guidance explains these effects.

Sign out on a Samsung TV
- Open Settings > All Settings > Samsung Account.
- Select the account, then choose My Account.
- Choose Sign Out and confirm with Yes.
On some TVs, use the remote to press left, select the account name at the top left, choose the account and edit button, then select Sign Out and confirm. TV menus vary by model and software version. For Samsung’s steps, see How to sign out and sign back in to your Samsung account on your TV.

What TV sign-out changes
Signing out removes the account from that TV. Synced data and Samsung services, apps, cloud features, and synced content associated with the account may no longer be available on the TV. Signing out does not cancel active subscriptions. You can sign in again later. Samsung’s TV guidance describes these effects.
Sign out on a computer
- Open a web browser and visit Samsung’s website.
- Select the profile icon in the upper-right corner.
- Choose Sign out.
This signs you out of the website in that browser. Samsung’s account-management instructions describe the browser sign-out route.

Sign-out is not account deletion
If you only want to disconnect a device, do not delete the Samsung account. Permanent deletion is a separate browser-based process. Samsung warns that deletion also removes purchase history, content subscriptions, content uploads, and profile information, and that this information cannot be recovered.
