There are no official PC system requirements for Shrek 2 Remastered as of October 18, 2026. A temporarily visible Microsoft Store page identified an Aspyr-developed game for Xbox Series X|S, but it did not publish a Windows version, release date, CPU, graphics card, RAM, storage, operating-system or DirectX requirements. Until an official PC listing appears, every detailed Windows specification circulating online is speculation.
The short answer for PC players
You cannot reliably determine whether your computer will run Shrek 2 Remastered yet, because no confirmed PC edition or Windows requirements have been announced. Do not purchase a processor, graphics card, memory kit or prebuilt computer specifically for this game on the assumption that an unofficial requirement list is accurate.
The information currently available describes an Xbox listing rather than a Windows release. A Microsoft Store page appeared and was removed
Gematsu reported on October 16, 2026 that a Microsoft Store page for an unannounced Shrek 2 Remastered had gone live. Inven Global subsequently reported that the page was temporarily public and later removed. The available reporting identified Xbox as the platform. No public page has established a Windows SKU, a launch date or availability on other platforms.

Because the page was not an announced PC product page, it cannot be used to infer a minimum or recommended computer configuration. A store listing can identify a console platform without saying anything about the specifications required by a separate Windows build.
Aspyr is the listed developer
The listing reported by Gematsu named Aspyr as the developer. That attribution confirms who was associated with the temporarily exposed listing; it does not confirm a PC port, release schedule or technical target.
The remaster advertises visual and feature upgrades
The store description says the game includes better textures, an enhanced user interface, 4K resolution and updated cutscenes. It also lists Photo Mode and Cheat Mode. These are product features, not PC requirements. “4K” in a console description does not establish that a Windows build will render at native 4K, offer a particular frame rate or require a specific graphics card.

The same description supports solo play and up to four-player co-op. The modes include local split-screen, online multiplayer or a combination of local and online players. The wording is a capability statement for the listed product; it does not indicate whether a PC version will use the same networking, split-screen or performance settings.

The original 2004 game had a PC release
Activision’s April 28, 2004 release notice lists the original licensed Shrek 2 game for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Game Boy Advance and PC. The PC version was developed by KnowWonder. That history confirms that the franchise has appeared on computers before, but it does not confirm that the remaster is based on the old PC executable or that its old requirements remain relevant.

No official source currently provides a Windows minimum or recommended specification. The table separates known platform information from the fields a PC listing would need to publish.

Why the original PC requirements are not a safe proxy
It is tempting to look up the 2004 computer specification and assume a modern machine will automatically handle the remaster. That approach answers a different question. The original PC game was made for hardware and operating systems from its release period, while the exposed description emphasizes revised textures, a new interface, updated cutscenes and modern multiplayer options.

A remaster may retain old game logic while replacing rendering, video playback, input, networking or platform services. Those changes can alter processor load, graphics-memory use, storage needs and operating-system compatibility. Conversely, efficient engineering could keep requirements modest. Without a Windows specification from the developer or publisher, neither outcome can be established.
The original game’s platform list also does not prove that the remaster uses the PC version as its technical foundation. Console and computer editions can be maintained as separate projects, and the listing did not describe the porting technology.
Can your current PC run it?
There is no honest yes-or-no answer today. You can document your machine so that an eventual requirements table can be checked quickly, but any result before that table appears would be a guess.
Record your processor, memory and Windows version
- Open Settings and choose System, then About. Record the processor name, installed RAM and system type.
- Open Settings > System > About > Windows specifications and record the edition and version. A future listing may require a particular Windows release.
- For a live memory view, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager, select Performance, and choose Memory. Note total capacity and speed.
Record graphics hardware and VRAM
- In Task Manager, open Performance and select each GPU entry. Record the model name and dedicated GPU memory.
- Press Windows+R, enter
dxdiag, and select the Display tabs. Record the adapter name, display memory and driver date. - If the computer has integrated and discrete graphics, record both. A game can select the wrong adapter or use shared system memory when the dedicated GPU is unavailable.
Check storage without treating it as a requirement
Open Settings > System > Storage to see free space on the intended installation drive. This tells you what room is available, not how large the remaster will be. The install size, temporary extraction space and any SSD recommendation have not been published.

What to compare when an official PC page appears
When Aspyr, Microsoft or another official publisher channel posts a Windows listing, compare every row rather than matching only the graphics-card name. A reliable check should include the following.

Do not confuse the Xbox listing with a PC specification
The exposed page’s Xbox Series X|S identification tells you which console family the listing was associated with. It does not translate into an equivalent Windows CPU or GPU. Consoles use a fixed hardware configuration, shared memory design and platform-specific operating environment. PC players can have many combinations of processor, graphics card, driver, memory and storage, so a separate compatibility statement is necessary.
Likewise, the description’s 4K reference should not be interpreted as a promise of 4K output on every platform. It may describe a console display mode, an output option or marketing language; the available text does not specify a Windows renderer or frame-rate mode.

- Treat a page that lists Windows CPU, GPU and RAM values without an official PC store page or publisher statement as unverified.
- Check the date. The temporary listing was reported in October 2026, and its removal means old screenshots may no longer reflect the final product.
- Look for a complete table. A single graphics-card claim cannot establish the operating system, storage, memory or DirectX requirements.
- Separate minimum from recommended values and note the resolution and frame-rate target attached to each.
- Do not infer requirements from another remaster, another game using the same characters or the 2004 PC release.
Should you upgrade or buy a PC now?
Buying hardware specifically for Shrek 2 Remastered is not justified by the information available. No confirmed PC SKU, release date or requirement table exists, so there is no defensible component target or value calculation. If you need a computer for other games or work, choose hardware for those confirmed uses; do not describe that purchase as guaranteed preparation for this remaster.

Wait for an official Windows listing or announcement. Once it exists, record the listed CPU, GPU, VRAM, RAM, storage, Windows version, DirectX level and target resolution, then compare those values with the inventory you saved from your PC. If your system is close to a minimum, look for independent testing after launch rather than assuming that meeting one line guarantees a stable frame rate.
What is known about release timing?
No release date was listed in the temporarily public page, and Inven Global reported that an official Aspyr announcement had not yet been made. Availability on platforms other than the Xbox listing therefore remains unconfirmed.
