To show or hide the blocked-tracker count in Firefox desktop, open Menu > Settings > Privacy and security, then under Enhanced Tracking Protection select or clear Show trackers blocked in address bar. Hiding the count does not stop Firefox from blocking trackers.
Change the blocked-tracker count setting
- Open the Firefox menu and choose Settings. Some installations may call this Preferences.
- Select Privacy and security.
- Under Enhanced Tracking Protection, find Show trackers blocked in address bar. Select the checkbox to show the count beside the shield, or clear it to hide the count.
The count appears when Firefox finds and blocks trackers on the page. The setting is documented for Firefox desktop; menu labels can vary by installation. See Mozilla Support’s Enhanced Tracking Protection guide for Firefox desktop.
What changes when you hide the count?
Clearing the setting hides the blocked-tracker count next to the shield and disables the shield animation. It does not turn off Enhanced Tracking Protection: Firefox continues blocking trackers. Mozilla describes the animation as experimental and progressively rolled out, so it may not appear for every user or installation.

View the count without showing it in the address bar
Select the shield icon in the address bar to open Firefox’s Privacy Panel. You can view the blocked-tracker count there even when the address-bar count is hidden.
