Link your Amazon account with eero if you want a feature that depends on the connection—such as eero Built-in, supported Amazon device setup, Zigbee integration, or an eero subscription purchased through Amazon. Linking is optional for ordinary eero Wi-Fi use. The trade-off is that eero says linked features may involve sharing account, network, and connected-device information with Amazon.
What linking an Amazon account to eero does
Linking enables selected Amazon Connected Home features; it does not make an ordinary eero network work, and eero does not say that linking improves basic Wi-Fi speed. eero describes the connection as enabling features such as eero Built-in, Amazon Frustration-Free Setup, and Zigbee Smart Home Hub. - eero Built-in: Use certain compatible Echo devices to extend an eero network.
- Amazon Frustration-Free Setup: Make setup of supported Amazon devices easier by syncing relevant network credentials.
- Zigbee integration: Connect supported smart-home devices through compatible Zigbee capabilities.
- Amazon-purchased eero subscription: Linking may be needed to activate or use a subscription bought through Amazon.
These benefits depend on the feature, compatible hardware, region, and software state. If none applies to you, you can leave the accounts unlinked.

For features that require account linking, eero lists examples of information that the companies may use to support those features. The list is eero’s disclosure, not an independent audit of every data-handling practice.

- Amazon account details, including the account name and email address.
- Wi-Fi network names and passwords.
- Thread network identifiers and credentials.
- Connected-device information, such as device nicknames and signal strength.
- Configuration information for low-power smart-home networks, such as Zigbee.
eero says syncing Wi-Fi and Thread credentials can help supported Amazon products join the network and can support a shared Thread mesh. Its account-linking disclosure points readers to eero’s and Amazon’s privacy notices for more detail.
Decide based on the feature you want

eero Built-in: limits and compatibility
eero says eero Built-in can provide up to 1,000 sq. ft. of additional coverage, up to 100 Mbps, and support 10 or fewer connected devices in the 5 GHz band. These are vendor-stated maximums, not promises of actual performance; results can vary with network configuration, interference, device use, building materials, and obstructions. That legal page lists availability in the United States, Canada, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and the United Kingdom. eero’s feature page names Echo Pop, 4th- and 5th-generation Echo Dot and Echo Dot with Clock, and 4th-generation Echo as compatible examples. Check the current eero Built-in feature page for compatibility before relying on a particular device.
How to turn off credential syncing
- Open the eero app and go to Settings → Advanced networking → Amazon Connected Home.
- Under Easy device setup, open Frustration-Free Setup and turn it off.
- To remove credentials Amazon already stores, also go to Amazon’s Manage Your Content and Devices and remove them there.
Turning off syncing in eero stops the feature from continuing to share credentials through that setting; it does not, by itself, remove credentials already stored with Amazon.

How to unlink Amazon from eero
- Open the eero app and tap Settings.
- Tap Advanced networking.
- Under Integrations, tap Amazon Connected Home.
- Tap Unlink Amazon, then confirm by tapping Unlink Amazon again.
If you bought an eero subscription through Amazon, unlinking removes access to that subscription. Review your subscription arrangement before unlinking.

Using Amazon Login to sign in to eero and linking an Amazon account through Amazon Connected Home are related but distinct. eero says signing in to eero with Amazon replaces the need to link from Alexa for partner account linking. Its guidance says that stopping Amazon Login requires deleting the eero account and creating a new one—not simply using the unlink control.

Account deletion is consequential: eero says associated networks and services are lost, and deletion cannot be undone. Do not delete an eero account just to unlink Amazon Connected Home. If you are unsure which setup applies to your account, contact eero support before making an irreversible change. See eero’s account-deletion guidance.
