The POCO X6 Pro is still a strong candidate if you want gaming performance, a sharp 120Hz-class display and fast wired charging for your money. Its case is less compelling if you prioritize versatile cameras, cleaner software, stronger water protection or a long remaining update-support window. Whether it is worth buying now depends on its current price in your market; launch-era prices do not establish its value in October 2026.
What the POCO X6 Pro does best
Performance for games and everyday use
Reviewers consistently identify the MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra as the phone’s central advantage: it delivers unusually strong performance for a midrange device and is suitable for demanding games. That is a synthesis of published reviews, not a claim based on new benchmark testing. Notebookcheck reports configurations up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, while WIRED reviewed a UK 12GB/512GB model. Memory and storage options vary by market, so check the exact local version before buying. Notebookcheck and WIRED describe their review contexts.
A sharp, high-refresh display
POCO Global lists a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 2712 × 1220 resolution (446 pixels per inch), refresh rates up to 120Hz and a peak brightness specification of 1800 nits. Reviewers praise its sharpness and brightness, making it a strong fit for gaming and video. Peak brightness is a manufacturer specification, not a promise that the panel sustains that level in every mode or condition. POCO Global’s specifications give the figures; GSMArena and WIRED discuss the viewing experience.
Battery and charging
The manufacturer specifies a 5000mAh typical-capacity battery and 67W wired charging, and lists a charger in the box. Published reviews report good battery life, but actual runtime depends on factors such as workload, screen brightness and refresh-rate settings. Tech Advisor reports that wireless charging is absent. POCO Global provides the battery and included-charger specifications; Tech Advisor covers charging.

Where the compromises matter
Camera quality depends on which camera you use
The rear system consists of a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide with a 120-degree field of view and a 2MP macro camera; the front camera is 16MP. The main camera can produce pleasing stills in daylight and, according to GSMArena, in low light. That does not make the three rear cameras equally capable: reviews describe the ultrawide and macro as distinctly weaker, and GSMArena notes that the ultrawide cannot record 4K while the main camera’s stabilization can be shaky. Rear video tops out at 4K/30fps. Megapixel counts alone do not establish image quality. POCO Global lists the hardware and video ceiling; GSMArena and WIRED assess the cameras.
Software and support need a closer look
WIRED criticizes preinstalled apps and some interface choices. Those are potential annoyances rather than proof that every buyer will dislike the software; people who prefer a cleaner Android experience may find them more consequential. WIRED’s review said the phone was expected to receive three major OS updates and four years of security patches. That was a review-era expectation, not confirmation of how much support remains in October 2026. Check the current update status for your region before treating any support period as still available. WIRED covers the software and its original support expectation.

Build, protection and feature omissions
Reviewers note plastic construction and IP54 ingress protection. IP54 is limited protection against dust and splashes, not a waterproof rating or assurance that the phone can be submerged. Notebookcheck also reports no eSIM, microSD expansion, full always-on display or USB 3.x in its tested context. Those observations should not be generalized to every regional configuration without checking the model sold where you live. GSMArena, WIRED and Notebookcheck discuss these trade-offs.

- Choose the X6 Pro if: gaming speed, a crisp high-refresh screen and quick wired charging matter more to you than camera flexibility or premium materials.
- Look elsewhere if: you want more consistent results across rear cameras, a cleaner software interface, stronger ingress protection or a clearly longer remaining update-support period.
- Check before ordering: local RAM and storage configuration, carrier-supported 5G bands and functions, current software-support status, the actual local price and the seller’s description of what is included.
Review-era comparisons have named the Google Pixel 7a, Samsung Galaxy A54, Motorola Edge 40 Neo and standard POCO X6 as alternatives. They may not be equally available or similarly priced in October 2026. Compare current local offers and the factors above rather than assuming an older comparison identifies today’s overall winner. GSMArena, WIRED, Notebookcheck and Tech Advisor discuss these phones in launch-era review contexts.
