For the India 6 GB / 128 GB versions, a 91mobiles comparison published on 17 August 2026 listed both the Moto G Max 5G and Redmi Note 17 5G at ₹27,999. That is a dated comparison, not a guarantee of today’s price: a separate Gadgets Now listing showed the Moto at ₹26,999. On specifications, choose Moto for its listed chipset, ultrawide camera and audio options; choose Redmi for its larger AMOLED screen, bigger battery and longer listed software support.
Price and variants: are they really the same price?
In its 17 August 2026 comparison, 91mobiles listed the India 6 GB / 128 GB Moto G Max 5G and Redmi Note 17 5G at ₹27,999 each. Prices and stock can change, so check current retailer listings for the same RAM and storage configuration before deciding.
91mobiles also reported an 8 GB / 128 GB Redmi variant at ₹29,999. Its article said the Redmi was available through Amazon.in and Moto sales through Flipkart from 20 August 2026; those dated availability details do not establish current stock. See 91mobiles’ comparison and Gadgets Now’s comparison listing for the reported figures.

What the Moto G Max 5G is better suited to
The Moto is the more suitable spec-sheet fit if you want a dedicated ultrawide rear camera, a higher-resolution listed selfie camera, or more flexible audio connections. Its dual-speaker setup and 3.5 mm headphone jack are useful distinctions if you often listen without headphones or use wired headphones. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage are also the higher listed chipset and memory/storage tiers in this comparison, but that does not prove faster everyday use or better sustained performance.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the Redmi Note 17 5G is better suited to
Redmi is the spec-sheet fit if your priorities are a larger AMOLED display, higher listed battery capacity and charging wattage, or a longer stated software-support window. Its listed 6.99-inch AMOLED panel is larger than the Moto’s 6.72-inch LCD, and it supports the same reported 120 Hz refresh rate. The battery and charging figures favor Redmi on paper, but do not tell you how long either phone lasts between charges or how quickly it charges in actual use.

Which phone should you buy?
- Choose Moto on specifications if you value the listed ultrawide camera, 32 MP selfie camera, dual speakers, wired headphone jack, or higher-tier chipset and storage types.
- Choose Redmi on specifications if you prioritize the larger AMOLED display, its listed 8,000 mAh battery and 45 W charging, or the longer reported software-support period.
- Pause and check current listings if your choice depends on price: the cited comparisons disagree about the Moto’s price, and neither listing guarantees what you will pay today.
- Look for model-specific test data if battery life, photo quality, or sustained performance is decisive. The cited comparison material does not establish those outcomes.
