Buy Apple HomeView if your household already relies on Apple devices and wants a shared screen for Siri, FaceTime, media and smart-home control. Wait if you are in the European Union, do not own a compatible iPhone or iPad, need proven long-term testing, or want to avoid beta AI and possible accessory or subscription costs. HomeView starts at £299 in Apple’s 2026 UK announcement; Tom’s Guide reports a $299 US price.
What Apple HomeView is
HomeView is a dedicated 7-inch Liquid Retina household display that combines Apple services, Siri, video calling and Apple Home controls. It can sit on a tabletop or be wall-mounted. Apple says pre-orders opened on 13 October 2026, with listed-market availability from 13 November 2026.
The launch countries named by Apple are Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. Singapore pre-orders begin on 15 October, while sales in South Africa are handled by authorised resellers. Apple says HomeView is not available for sale in the European Union because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS there.

Five reasons to buy HomeView
1. It puts Apple services on a shared household screen
HomeView brings Siri AI, Apple Music, Podcasts, Apple News, Apple TV, FaceTime, Messages, Find My and Apple Home into one always-available place. That is more useful than treating it as a small tablet: family members can ask for information, start music, check a reminder or control a room without finding a phone first.
Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, describes the design goal this way: “Apple HomeView is designed to be shared by everyone in the home yet feel completely personal to each user.”

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
2. Personal profiles are designed for shared homes
Face recognition supports up to six people. Each recognised person can have a personal Home Screen, apps and widgets, while shared albums and music remain available to everyone. This addresses a common problem with household displays: a device that is technically shared but effectively belongs to one account.
3. It can serve as a serious Apple Home dashboard
HomeView can show camera feeds and control compatible thermostats, lights, locks and blinds. Apple’s Home Camera face can display up to nine feeds at once, making the screen useful for a hallway, kitchen or room where several entrances and rooms need monitoring.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Apple says HomeView works with Apple Home Collection products and other Works with Apple Home and Matter accessories. Check the exact accessory model before buying; protocol support does not guarantee that every device exposes every feature through HomeView.
4. Communication and everyday tasks are built in
FaceTime uses Center Stage to keep people framed during a call. You can send Messages by voice or on screen, use Intercom, convert recipes into step-by-step instructions, set hands-free timers, use Find My and view Live Activities. Those functions target practical moments when carrying a phone is inconvenient, especially while cooking or moving around the house.

5. The audio hardware could make it a useful room speaker
Apple lists two full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer, force-cancelling passive radiators, computational audio and Spatial Audio. HomeView can also play in multiple rooms with HomeView, HomePod, HomePod mini and AirPlay-compatible speakers. These are Apple’s launch specifications and claims, not results from independent listening tests.

1. The AI experience is conditional and still in beta
Apple says Siri AI is available in beta in HomeView software version 27.2. Personal-context requests require a paired Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, a supported language and current software. Some server-side features have daily usage limits. If you want a mature, predictable assistant rather than an evolving beta, waiting is sensible.

2. Availability and total cost narrow the audience
EU availability is excluded at launch. Outside that region, you still need a compatible iPhone or iPad for setup and multiuser support. Subscriptions, a nearby paired iPhone and compatible smart-home accessories can add recurring or upfront costs.
Wall mounting is not included in the base price. Apple’s UK release lists Schneider Home mounts from £54.95 for USB-C, £69.95 for AC Wired and £119.95 for PoE Wired, with the PoE Wired option planned for early 2027. Choose the mount only after confirming your power and cabling requirements.

Check these requirements before ordering
- A compatible iPhone or iPad for setup and multiuser support.
- An Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad if you want personal-context Siri requests.
- Supported language and current software for the beta Siri AI features.
- Compatible Apple Home, Works with Apple Home or Matter accessories for smart-home control.
- A plan for power and mounting if you want the wall-mounted version.
- Subscriptions or nearby-phone requirements for any content or feature that needs them.
Verdict
HomeView is a strong fit for an Apple-centric household that wants one shared, personalised control point for communication, entertainment and smart-home devices. Its value is less clear if you are outside the launch markets, lack the required iPhone or iPad, or expect finished AI and a self-contained setup. At £299 in the UK or $299 in the US, decide only after adding any subscriptions, compatible accessories and the separate wall mount.
