Not necessarily—but first verify that Samsung or your carrier is offering One UI 9 for your exact Galaxy A57 model. Samsung announced a gradual rollout beginning with Galaxy S26 devices on September 16, 2026, but did not name the A57 or provide an A57 rollout date. One A57 owner has reported a setup error after installing One UI 9, but that single unverified account does not show that the update is broadly defective. Samsung’s rollout announcement and A57 firmware history are the best places to check what is actually confirmed.
Is One UI 9 available for the Galaxy A57?
Samsung’s September 16, 2026 announcement said One UI 9 rollout began with the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, then would expand gradually to other Galaxy devices. It did not confirm the Galaxy A57 as an eligible device or give an A57 release date. Samsung also notes that feature support and availability can differ by device, country, region, and language. Read Samsung’s One UI 9 announcement.
The official firmware record reviewed for Galaxy A57 model SM-A576B lists Android 16 build A576BXXS6AZI2, released September 16, 2026, with a September 5 security patch. Samsung labels its change category “Security”; the listing does not identify it as One UI 9. The record is specific to SM-A576B and is not proof of status for every regional or carrier variant. Samsung says firmware changes may vary by model, country, and service provider. Check the SM-A576B firmware history.
Should you install it if your A57 offers the update?
There is not enough confirmed evidence to recommend that all Galaxy A57 owners avoid One UI 9. The available report of trouble is a single Reddit post, not a verified or widespread defect. If One UI 9 appears in your phone’s own update screen, check the update details and confirm that the notice applies to your exact model and carrier before deciding. If Samsung or your carrier has issued a warning for that build, follow its guidance; otherwise, the evidence here does not establish a reason to reject a legitimate offer solely because of the anecdote.

- Military-grade drop protection via Air Cushion Technology
- Resilient shock absoprtion and carbon fiber design
- Raised edges for screen and camera protection
- Compatible with wireless charging [NOT compatible with MagSafe]
- Spigen Rugged Armor Case Compatible with Samsung Galaxy A57 5G Case
Distinguish a major interface upgrade from a security update. A security patch is not evidence that One UI 9 is available, and delaying security fixes indefinitely is not a good precaution. Samsung lists the A57 among devices in its monthly firmware security-update scope, although the scope and timing can change. See Samsung’s security-update scope.
What does the A57 error report actually say?
On October 12, 2026, a user in r/GalaxyA57 wrote that after installing One UI 9.0, an error screen appeared during setup and they rebooted into safe mode to get past it. The poster speculated that Samsung’s servers were responsible, but supplied no verified cause, device build, reproducible steps, or independent confirmation. The post does not establish how often the problem occurs or whether it affects other A57 owners. Read the individual report.

How long will Samsung support the Galaxy A57?
Samsung Newsroom México stated on July 7, 2026, that the Galaxy A57 5G is eligible for up to six generations of Android and One UI operating-system updates and up to six years of security updates. These are maximum support commitments, not a promise that every release arrives at the same time in every country or on every carrier. Samsung Newsroom México’s support statement.
