How do the core strategy systems work?
Mazing: shape the route enemies must travel
The game’s central skill is “mazing”: placing towers to make the route enemy units travel toward your throne as long as possible. Randomly spawned obstacles and waypoints change the board, so a memorized tower layout may not fit every match. Longer routes are useful only if your towers can still cover the path effectively.
Gold and souls have different jobs
- Gold pays for tower construction and upgrades.
- Souls, collected from units that die, empower towers between waves. Empowerment can strengthen a tower or add functions such as damage over time or snares.
Read the wave before choosing your defenses
Enemy units carry buffs such as armor, speed, regeneration, or shields. Towers provide ways to counter those buffs, making tower selection and placement important. The round alternates between a Preparation Phase, for building, upgrading, and empowering, and a Combat Phase, when units attack and souls are harvested.

Use preparation moves to rearrange incoming buffs
During preparation, the incoming wave’s buffs appear in a grid. Adjacent buffs multiply one another’s strength, and players have a limited number of moves to separate matching buffs. The documented mechanics suggest a practical order: inspect the grid first, separate adjacent matching buffs where possible, then select towers to address the remaining profile.
