Shadow Gangs is a side-scrolling ninja action game in which Dan fights the Shadow Force to rescue his family. It is available for Windows through Steam and for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The game’s publisher describes its visuals as hand-drawn HD art; the Xbox listing specifies a ten-level campaign with six bosses.
What is Shadow Gangs?
Shadow Gangs is an arcade-style action game from JKM. You play as Dan, master of the current ninja order, and take on the Shadow Force in an effort to save your family. The Xbox store description says Dan can use ninja transformation and special powers. The publisher presents the original as an arcade adventure with hand-drawn HD art; Steam categorizes it as a side-scroller, beat ’em up, arcade game, hack-and-slash title and 2D platformer. Those are the publisher’s and storefront’s descriptions, rather than independent assessments of how the game plays.
The Xbox listing describes a campaign of ten levels and six bosses. It does not establish how long a typical playthrough takes or how the levels are divided across the bosses.

Is Shadow Gangs the same game as Shadow Gangs Zero?
No. Shadow Gangs is the original game covered by the Steam and Xbox listings above. The official site describes Shadow Gangs Zero as a separate 16-bit prequel. It presents the original as hand-drawn HD arcade action, so the two titles should not be confused when checking platforms or game details.
