There is no single best-hero order for every Seven Knights Re:Birth player: a hero’s value depends on the activity, the role your team needs, and how developed your account is. For early PvE, Pocket Gamer recommends Knox as a broadly useful tank, Rachel and Ace as support options, and Teo for area damage. For later decisions, use a tier list for the specific mode you want to improve rather than treating a PvP ranking as a universal build order.
How to use a hero tier list without wasting your investment
A tier list is most useful as a shortcut to a decision, not as an instruction to build every hero at the top. The current guides rate heroes across different activities, and their labels are editorial assessments rather than results from a shared performance test. Before investing, identify the activity that is holding you back, the role your team lacks, and whether the list you are reading actually covers that activity.
That distinction matters because a character can be valuable in one context without being the best choice for another. A hero rated highly for PvP is not automatically a top farming choice, and a PvE recommendation for clearing groups does not establish that the same hero is best against bosses or in arena battles. Use ratings as mode-specific evidence, then fit them to your roster.

- Identify the missing role. Consider whether the team needs a frontline tank, support, or damage dealer before selecting a name from a ranking.
- Check the list’s date and version. New characters and balance changes can make an older ranking less relevant.
- Keep account maturity in view. A recommendation involving a max-rank benefit may not describe what a newly summoned hero can do for a developing account.
The GameWith guide, updated October 13, 2026, separates PvP from Advent Expedition, Nightmare Farming, Castle Rush, Raid, Infinite Tower, and Dungeon. It describes SS characters as meta-core in PvP or key for high-difficulty PvE; S characters as strong across multiple activities but not necessarily optimal for the hardest stages; A characters as situational alternatives; and B characters as generally not recommended for top-tier compositions. These definitions belong to GameWith’s guide and should not be assumed to match another publisher’s tier scale. GameWith’s character tier list and activity rankings

Pocket Gamer’s guide takes a different approach: its table includes PvE, PvP, Raid, Castle, and Advent ratings. It does not provide a shared numeric performance measure with GameWith. That means a label from one page should not be compared as if it were a score measured on the other page’s scale. Pocket Gamer’s Seven Knights Re:BIRTH tier list
Early-game heroes to consider building
For a newer account, Pocket Gamer’s recommendations offer a practical starting point because they address broad team needs rather than promising a complete late-game roster. Think of these as early progression guidance from that guide—not as a guarantee that each hero is the best choice for every account, mode, or later patch.
| Hero | Pocket Gamer’s recommendation | How to use the advice |
|---|---|---|
| Knox | A good overall tank; the guide highlights taunt and damage immunity as useful. | Consider Knox when your immediate concern is having a frontline option. The guide does not establish that he is the top tank in every mode. |
| Rachel | Named as a common early support build. | Consider her when you are choosing an early support investment. The available recommendation does not rank her above every other support for each activity. |
| Ace | Also named as a common early support build. | Use this as an early-roster option, then check the mode-specific rankings when a particular activity becomes your priority. |
| Teo | Recommended as a PvE area-damage option; Pocket Gamer notes a critical-rate benefit at max rank. | He is a candidate when clearing groups is the problem. Keep the max-rank qualification attached to the critical-rate note; it is not evidence of the same benefit at lower ranks. |
The practical takeaway is to cover team functions before chasing a theoretically perfect roster. If you already have a functioning frontline and support, another unit that fills a genuine damage or activity-specific need may be more useful than duplicating a role simply because its tier label is high. This is a team-building decision framework, not a claim that the guides establish a fixed order for all accounts.

Choose by the activity you want to improve
PvP
For arena or other PvP decisions, consult a PvP ranking specifically. GameWith says its SS characters are core to the current PvP meta, but that description does not make an SS-rated unit automatically optimal for farming, Raid, or another PvE activity. Compare the PvP options against the team you can actually field and the role you need filled.
General PvE and wave clearing
If ordinary PvE progress is slowed by groups of enemies, Pocket Gamer’s recommendation of Teo as an area-damage option is directly relevant. Its max-rank critical-rate note is a separate qualification, not a reason to assume a newly obtained Teo has the same benefits. For a broader early roster, Pocket Gamer also points to Knox, Rachel, and Ace for tanking and support.
Raid and other boss-oriented activities
GameWith and Pocket Gamer both include Raid-related ratings, though their lists do not share a common scale. Use the Raid row or section in the guide you consult rather than substituting a PvP rank. The available evidence provides no win-rate, damage benchmark, or controlled comparison, so a tier placement should be read as the guide’s judgment, not a measured promise of performance.

Castle Rush, Advent Expedition, and challenge progression
GameWith separates Castle Rush and Advent Expedition from other PvE rankings, and also lists Nightmare Farming, Infinite Tower, and Dungeon. That organization is a useful signal: a general “PvE tier” can conceal meaningful differences between activities. Find the exact activity that is blocking your account and use its corresponding assessment. Pocket Gamer’s table includes Castle and Advent ratings as well, but again, those labels cannot be numerically merged with GameWith’s.
Farming and repeated clears
When repeated farming is the goal, use the guide’s Nightmare Farming assessment rather than a ranking for a one-off progression challenge or PvP. The evidence identifies the mode as a separate category but does not provide clear times or an efficiency test. Treat its placements as directional guidance, and avoid assuming they prove a particular team will clear faster on your account.
How to decide whether a hero is worth building
- Name the bottleneck. Write down the mode and problem: for example, PvP performance, group clearing, or a specific progression activity. “I need a stronger roster” is too broad to guide a good investment.
- Check the matching rating. Open the activity-specific ranking on a current guide. Do not replace a missing mode assessment with a ranking from another mode.
- Match the candidate to a role. Determine whether the hero addresses a frontline, support, or damage need. Pocket Gamer’s early recommendations provide examples of those broad roles: Knox for tanking, Rachel and Ace as support builds, and Teo for PvE area damage.
- Read the qualification, not just the name. Note whether the recommendation is for a particular activity, a high-difficulty stage, or a developed version of the character. Teo’s max-rank critical-rate benefit is one specific example where investment level matters.
- Check whether the advice fits your account. A list describes a general assessment; it cannot account for every hero you own or the role already covered by your current team. Prefer a unit that solves a real gap over a duplicate investment made solely to follow a tier label.
- Verify the date and version before committing. Rankings can shift with patches and new characters. Use the update information on the guide itself as part of your decision, especially for recent or collaboration units.
This process does not require treating a tier list as a precise calculation. The guides provide tiers and mode-specific recommendations, not a published dataset of win rates, usage rates, or damage results. If two options both appear viable, the supplied rankings do not establish a universal winner for every roster; make the choice according to the activity and role you need.

Is rerolling necessary?
Pocket Gamer says rerolling is not an absolute must and that free heroes plus early summons can be enough to progress through PvE. For a new player, that makes rerolling a preference rather than a required prerequisite for starting the game’s PvE progression. Its advice is not a guarantee that every account will advance at the same pace, nor does it settle which roster is best for late-game PvP or specialized challenges.
If you would rather begin playing than repeatedly restart for a particular summon, the guide’s position supports moving forward with available heroes and building around your current needs. Revisit the mode-specific rankings later when you have a clearer bottleneck; an early-game recommendation should not be mistaken for a definitive endgame build order.

As checked on October 13, 2026, the most recently updated editorial guide in the reviewed material is GameWith’s, marked “Last Updated: October 13, 2026.” Its latest-character discussion includes the Demon Slayer collaboration characters Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma, with mode-specific descriptions. Their presence is a reason to check current availability and rankings before building around a recent collaboration unit, not proof that either character is universally worth prioritizing.

Pocket Gamer’s list is marked updated September 2, 2026, identifies game version 1.27.04, and says Dongyoung was added. This gives readers a useful dated reference point, but it is older than GameWith’s October 13 update. The pages are third-party guides, not official Netmarble rankings, and their tier placements remain editorial judgments that can change with patches, new characters, and shifts in activity-specific priorities.

Neither reviewed guide supplies a shared tier scale or a controlled hero comparison. Neither provides a sourced win-rate, usage-rate, or damage dataset in the material covered here. Use the published rankings as informed editorial guidance, and do not translate a tier letter into a numerical performance gap the guides do not report.
Common mistakes when following hero rankings
- Reading one mode’s tier as universal. A PvP assessment answers a PvP question; it does not establish the best farming or boss team.
- Comparing labels across guides as if they were measurements. GameWith’s and Pocket Gamer’s scales are not shown to be shared or calibrated against one another.
- Ignoring account stage. An early recommendation and a max-rank benefit describe different investment contexts.
- Following an undated list. A roster recommendation can become stale after updates or new character releases; look for the guide’s update date and, where available, game version.
- Investing without identifying a team need. A top placement is less actionable than a hero who fills the role your current team lacks.
In short, build for the activity you are actually playing. Use the early-game names as starting options where their described roles fit, then move to current, activity-specific rankings as your goals become more specialized.
