To change Amazon.ca’s language, open Language Settings, choose English (Canada) or French (Canada), and save. Amazon lists those as its Canadian marketplace languages, with English (Canada) as the default. Amazon’s locale reference also lists CAD as the default currency; changing language is not the same as changing your marketplace or account country.
Change the language on Amazon.ca
- Open Amazon.ca’s Language Settings. On the website, you may also find a language or flag control; its location can vary by page or version.
- Select English (Canada) or Français (Canada).
- Save the selection. Amazon support guidance says the saved choice becomes the default for browsing and shopping while you are logged in and is also used for Amazon communications. Amazon support guidance on language settings
Which languages can you select?

If Amazon still appears in the wrong language
Check the storefront
Confirm that you are using Amazon.ca, rather than a different country’s Amazon site. Amazon support forum guidance recommends checking the country storefront when the displayed language does not match the preference. Amazon support forum guidance

Check the device or app showing the problem
A change made on desktop may not carry over to the mobile or app environment, according to Amazon support forum advice. Open Language Settings in the environment that is displaying the wrong language and check the preference there. The forum guidance does not document current app-specific menus, so the precise route may differ by app version.
Allow for content that is not translated
The language preference controls the marketplace language setting; it does not guarantee that every product listing, message, or item of content will be translated. If one page or communication remains in another language, that alone does not establish that the account preference failed to save.

If you only want to browse Amazon.ca in English or French, change Language Settings; do not transfer your account country. Amazon’s country-transfer instructions concern moving eligible digital purchases to another country’s account settings and give the path Manage Your Content > Preferences > Country Settings.
