To set up Infuse, install it on a supported Apple device, then add the place where your media is stored: the device itself, a computer or NAS share, Plex, Emby, Jellyfin, or a supported cloud source. Infuse plays and organizes your own media; it does not provide a library of films or television shows.
Before you start: choose a device and media source
Infuse is available for Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision. Check the current operating-system and device requirements for your platform before installing; requirements can vary. Decide where the files live and how you expect to watch them:
- On the Apple device: Transfer or open files locally.
- On a computer or NAS: Share the folder over your network using a supported protocol such as SMB, NFS, FTP, or WebDAV.
- On a media server: Connect an existing Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin server.
- In cloud storage: Connect a supported cloud source.
For a network source, have its address and authorized account details ready. The storage device or server also needs to be configured to allow access. Infuse’s feature overview lists supported sources and protocols: Firecore’s Infuse feature page.

Install Infuse and add a source
Download Infuse from the App Store on the Apple device you plan to use, then open it and add a source. Choose local files, a network protocol, a media server, or a supported cloud service according to where your collection is stored. The exact screens and labels differ across Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision, so use the current in-app prompts rather than expecting one identical path on every platform.

- Entry-level NAS Personal Storage:UGREEN NAS DH2300 is your first and best NAS made easy. It is designed for beginners who want a simple, private way to store videos, photos and personal files, which is intuitive for users moving from cloud storage or external drives and move away from scattered date across devices. This entry-level NAS 2-bay perfect for personal entertainment, photo storage, and easy data backup (doesn't support Docker or virtual machines).
- Set Your Devices Free, Expand Your Digital World: This unified storage hub supports massive capacity up to 64TB.*Storage drives not included. Stop Deleting, Start Storing. You can store 22 million 3MB images, or 2 million 30MB songs, or 43K 1.5GB movies or 67 million 1MB documents! UGREEN NAS is a better way to free up storage across all your devices such as phones, computers, tablets and also does automatic backups across devices regardless of the operating system—Window, iOS, Android or macOS.
- The Smarter Long-term Way to Store: Unlike cloud storage with recurring monthly fees, a UGREEN NAS enclosure requires only a one-time purchase for long-term use. For example, you only need to pay $459.98 for a NAS, while for cloud storage, you need to pay $719.88 per year, $2,159.64 for 3 years, $3,599.40 for 5 years. You will save $6,738.82 over 10 years with UGREEN NAS! *NAS cost based on DH2300 + 12TB HDD; cloud cost based on 12TB plan (e.g. $59.99/month).
- Blazing Speed, Minimal Power: Equipped with a high-performance processor, 1GbE port, and 4GB RAM on Board, this NAS handles multiple tasks with ease. File transfers reach up to 125MB/s—a 1GB file takes only 8 seconds. Don't let slow clouds hold you back; they often need over 100 seconds for the same task. The difference is clear.
- Let AI Better Organize Your Memories: UGREEN NAS uses AI to tag faces, locations, texts, and objects—so you can effortlessly find any photo by searching for who or what's in it in seconds. It also automatically finds and deletes similar or duplicate photo, backs up live photos and allows you to share them with your friends or family with just one tap. Everything stays effortlessly organized, powered by intelligent tagging and recognition.
You do not need an Apple TV if you intend to watch on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Vision. If you want television playback and do not already have an Apple TV, confirm the model and operating-system compatibility for Infuse before choosing hardware.
How do I add a network share to Infuse?
A computer or NAS can keep the media files while Infuse connects to them over the network. Select the protocol enabled on the storage device—such as SMB, NFS, FTP, or WebDAV—and enter the connection details and credentials requested by Infuse. The share must also be enabled and accessible on the computer or NAS; adding it in the app alone does not configure storage permissions.
A NAS is optional. A computer share or a media server may be enough if it can remain available when you want to watch. For access away from home, you need a properly configured and secured remote connection to the source; an alternate address in Infuse does not expose or secure a server for you.

Infuse 8.4.8 added primary and secondary addresses for regular shares and supported media servers. When both are enabled, Infuse tries the addresses in order until one connects. See Firecore’s Infuse 8.4.8 release notes for the release detail.
Connect Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin
If you already use Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin, add that server as a source in Infuse. These are alternatives to connecting directly to a file share; installing a media server is not required just to use Infuse when direct access to your files works for you.
Infuse 8.5 added transcoding options for these supported media servers. A server may be able to provide an optimized stream when playing the original file is impractical—for example, during remote viewing over limited bandwidth or when the video has a high bitrate. Whether transcoding is available and helps depends on the server, its configuration, and the connection, so it is not a guaranteed fix for buffering. Details are in Firecore’s Infuse 8.5 release notes.

Let Infuse identify and organize your library
Infuse can retrieve movie and television metadata, artwork, cast information, ratings, and trailers. Firecore identifies TMDB as its metadata source. Clear, recognizable movie and episode names help you find and organize a collection, but the official material does not prescribe one complete naming convention.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
If a title is matched to the wrong film or episode, use the metadata editing controls available in your current app version. For exact control names and steps, consult the current Firecore support guide. Metadata matching and presentation depend on the information available for the file.
Test playback, then decide whether Pro fits
After adding a source, open a familiar file and check the picture, sound, subtitles, and seeking. If you plan to watch remotely, test that connection separately. This quick check helps distinguish a source or access problem from an issue with a particular file or playback setup.

Why is Infuse buffering when I stream remotely?
Remote playback depends on the connection between your device and the source, as well as the file’s bitrate and the server’s capabilities. Confirm that remote access to the share or media server is configured securely and that the address Infuse uses is reachable. For a supported Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin connection, try the available transcoding options if the original stream is too demanding for the connection. Transcoding can help in some setups, but it cannot correct every network, server, or file issue.
For a source with different home and away addresses, Infuse 8.4.8 supports primary and secondary addresses and attempts enabled addresses in order. Its release notes explain this feature at Firecore’s 8.4.8 announcement.
