Start by identifying the platform and the exact failure stage. Sesame Street: Friends & Fun launched on October 9, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Outright Games describes solo play and two-player local cooperative play. If the game will not install, crashes at startup, fails to detect a controller, will not save, or behaves differently in local co-op, the correct next step depends on that symptom and your platform.

What the game is supposed to support

- The available information does not establish online multiplayer. Do not treat local co-op as an online feature.
Safe triage before making changes
- Close the game completely. Do not leave it suspended or in a quick-resume state. Relaunch it from the platform’s game library.
- Restart the device. A full restart can clear a temporary process or controller connection, but it is not a documented game-specific cure.
- Check updates. Install any pending system and game update shown by your platform. If an update is still downloading, wait until it finishes before testing.

There is not enough space
Check the exact free-space warning in the platform menu. Do not assume the advertised game size is the space required for a patch or temporary installation files. Move or remove another title only after confirming that its save data is preserved separately from the application.
If the game crashes, freezes or shows a black screen
Crash before the main menu
- Record whether the crash occurs immediately, after the publisher logo, or while loading a particular profile.
- Install pending system and game updates, then perform a full restart.
- Try launching with the console connected directly to the display, temporarily removing a capture device or receiver.
- If the platform offers a built-in option to verify or repair installed game data, use that official option. Do not manually delete save files while troubleshooting.

Black screen or no picture

Nintendo Switch
- Check for a console update and a game update from the game’s options in the HOME menu.
- Confirm whether the software is installed on internal storage or a microSD card. If other software on that card also fails, investigate the card or storage before blaming this game.
- For a physical game card, remove and reinsert it with the console powered down according to Nintendo’s current instructions.

- Confirm the store account owns the PC edition and that the installed launcher is signed in to that account.

- Assign the second controller to a separate profile if the platform requests one; avoid changing the profile that owns the main save.
- Enter the game’s local co-op prompt or menu and check whether it accepts the second input.
- If joining fails, test each controller alone in another game, then test a new Friends & Fun session. This distinguishes controller, account and save problems.
Do not assume a friend can join remotely. The publisher’s description is specifically two-player local cooperative play, while the PlayStation listing separately says offline play.

Save, profile and progress issues
Save problems require more caution than crashes. Do not delete local data, uninstall the game or disable synchronization before determining where the platform stores the save and whether a cloud copy exists.
- Note the affected profile, save slot and the last successful session.
- Check whether the problem affects one save or every profile.
- Ensure the device has free storage and the correct account is active.
- If a synchronization conflict appears, stop and read both timestamps before choosing a version.
