Both ServiceTitan and FieldAware cover core field-service operations, including scheduling, dispatch, mobile work, work orders and reporting. The practical difference is the workflows each vendor emphasizes: ServiceTitan highlights residential sales tools and construction project workflows, while FieldAware presents a broad range of industry coverage, mobile job tools and NetSuite-focused workflows. Because the detailed head-to-head comparison is written by ServiceTitan, treat its claims about FieldAware’s gaps as claims to verify—not independent findings.
Where the platforms overlap
Both products address the everyday flow of field work: getting jobs scheduled and dispatched, equipping technicians with job information, managing work orders and reviewing operations through reporting. ServiceTitan’s comparison also identifies customer relationship management, SMS notifications and QuickBooks integrations as shared areas.
FieldAware describes mobile access to work orders, job and customer information, custom checklists, scheduling and dispatch, notifications, reporting and job costing. ServiceTitan’s feature catalog lists scheduling, dispatch, work-order management and a mobile app. The labels alone do not establish that the workflows or depth are equivalent; ask each vendor to run the same representative job end to end. ServiceTitan’s comparison and FieldAware’s overview describe their respective positions.

Residential sales: proposals, financing and payment
ServiceTitan’s comparison emphasizes a residential sales flow in which a technician presents Good Better Best options and can incorporate financing into the presentation. It also describes online payment and electronic-signature flows. These are vendor-described capabilities; financing availability and the exact current workflow should be confirmed directly.
#1 Best Overall
ServiceTitan’s article says it did not find a specific FieldAware feature set for that proposal model, and says FieldAware offers online payments but not the same real-time financing workflow. Those are claims from a competitor-authored page, not proof that FieldAware cannot support a comparable process. Ask FieldAware to demonstrate the exact workflow rather than infer absence from the comparison.
- Can technicians create and present multiple options from a mobile device?
- Are proposals linked to the company’s pricebook, and can customers review and sign them in the field?
- Which financing partners and customer application steps are available in the regions where the business operates?
- How do payment processing, financing eligibility and any third-party fees work?
Construction and longer-duration projects
ServiceTitan’s comparison describes construction workflows that go beyond a single service call: estimates, material or equipment requisitions, purchase orders, project summaries, budget-versus-actual job costing, applications for payment, continuation sheets and invoicing. Its feature catalog also lists project tracking and job costing. These descriptions make ServiceTitan worth evaluating when such tasks are central, but the sources do not establish which subscription or module includes each feature.
FieldAware lists construction among the industries it serves and describes work-order and operational tools. The assertion that it lacks robust subcontractor project-management support comes from ServiceTitan’s comparison; FieldAware’s overview does not settle that feature-by-feature question. Bring a real project example to both demonstrations and test the specific controls the team needs:
- Progress billing, retainage and continuation documents
- Purchase orders, requisitions and material or equipment tracking
- Project cost tracking against budget and actuals
- Invoice preparation and accounting handoff
Industry fit: breadth versus a focused trade mix
ServiceTitan’s comparison emphasizes HVAC, electrical, plumbing and select other trades, describing a residential heritage alongside commercial and construction workflows. FieldAware’s own overview and the comparison present it across a broader mix that includes construction, property and facility management, industrial and commercial equipment, and other sectors. The comparison also calls FieldAware a platform for “100+ field service industries”; that is ServiceTitan’s description, not an independently audited count.
Industry breadth is not a substitute for workflow fit. Compare how each product handles the buyer’s actual service lines, customer types, business units and job durations. A company with residential service calls and a separate commercial or construction division should test each division’s workflow rather than assume one platform’s headline positioning covers both equally well.
Accounting, ERP and integrations
ServiceTitan’s comparison identifies QuickBooks integrations for both platforms. ServiceTitan’s feature catalog describes partner integrations and API capabilities. FieldAware highlights a NetSuite-focused offering with real-time workflows and technician access to parts visibility, and describes broader accounting, ERP and CRM integration capabilities. These statements do not specify complete connector behavior or prove that every integration supports the fields and processes a particular company needs.
During a demonstration, use representative records and ask the vendor to show the named connection in operation. Confirm which direction data moves, which records and fields synchronize, how often synchronization occurs, how exceptions are surfaced and who maintains the connector. For NetSuite in particular, verify the parts-visibility workflow with the relevant technician and office roles.

- Run a residential call. Start with estimate creation, present multiple proposal options, record customer acceptance, demonstrate financing if required, and complete payment.
- Run a long-duration or construction job. Include job costing, purchasing or requisitions, progress billing and the invoice handoff.
- Test dispatch and mobile communication. Change a dispatch assignment, show how the technician receives and updates the job, and inspect customer status visibility and completion documents.
- Use your accounting or ERP records. Demonstrate the connection with representative data, then review sync direction, timing, exceptions and support responsibilities.
- Request commercial terms in writing. Ask for pricing, implementation costs, contract terms and a feature-by-plan matrix for your technician count, service lines, regions, integrations and required workflows.
What the available feature information does not establish
The reviewed product pages do not establish current prices, implementation fees, contract commitments or a complete feature-entitlement matrix by subscription tier. They also do not provide an independent comparative benchmark. ServiceTitan’s head-to-head article can help identify workflows to investigate, but statements about what FieldAware lacks should be checked with FieldAware and demonstrated in context. ServiceTitan’s feature catalog is useful for its broader feature list, but it does not assign every listed feature to a plan.
