There is no source-backed universal winner for agency SEO software. The right choice depends on how many client sites and keywords you manage, whether your team needs research and backlink data or mainly reporting, and how much of the client-facing experience must carry your brand. Compare each platform’s operational limits and full bill—not just its feature list or advertised starting price.

Start with the job your toolset must do

Agency SEO software generally serves two different workflows: doing SEO research and managing technical work, and packaging results for clients. Some products are positioned as broad SEO suites; others focus on branded reporting, dashboards, and data connections. A reporting layer can complement a research platform, but it should not be assumed to replace one.

Before comparing plans, write down the work the software must support: keyword discovery, competitor research, backlink analysis, site audits, rank tracking, or client reporting. Then estimate the number of active client sites, projects, locations, tracked keywords, team members, and reports you expect to handle. Those numbers determine whether a plan’s limits and pricing model fit.

How the options differ

Option Best fit to evaluate What to verify
Semrush SEO Classic A broad SEO workflow with agency-oriented capacity on its Business tier. Website-monitoring limits, user costs, report add-ons, and whether the SEO Classic plan family is the one you intend to buy.
Semrush SEO + AI Search Organizations or agencies scaling visibility across sites or markets, according to the vendor’s plan description. Do not merge its plan limits or prices with SEO Classic; confirm the exact product family and included capabilities.
Ahrefs Agencies assessing a suite with project, keyword, user, crawl-credit, and API or MCP limits to match against their workflow. Check the limits at the chosen tier and separately confirm client-facing white-label needs; the cited pricing information does not establish a dedicated white-label client portal.
SE Ranking with Agency Pack Agencies that need platform and report branding, client seats, scheduled reporting, or lead-generation features. Confirm that the selected subscription is eligible for the add-on and calculate the combined base-plan and add-on cost.
AgencyAnalytics Agencies whose main bottleneck is assembling marketing data into branded client dashboards and recurring reports. Rank tracking is listed separately; establish whether its reporting and integrations cover your needs alongside any separate research suite.

These are fit distinctions based on vendor-published product descriptions, not independent rankings of data quality or performance.

Compare published prices on the same basis

The figures below are snapshots of vendor pages accessed on October 7, 2026. They are not agency-specific quotes, and the plans are not directly comparable: billing cadence, included limits, plan families, and add-ons differ. Recheck the applicable vendor page before purchase.

Vendor and plan Published price snapshot Pricing detail that affects comparison
Semrush SEO Classic Pro $117.33/month billed annually; $139/month on monthly billing Vendor describes Pro for beginners and individual projects.
Semrush SEO Classic Guru $208.33/month billed annually; $249/month on monthly billing Vendor describes Guru for small businesses.
Semrush SEO Classic Business $416.66/month billed annually; $499/month on monthly billing Vendor describes Business for agencies and mid-market companies; the tier lists monitoring for up to 40 websites, share of voice, extended limits, and API access. Additional-user pricing and reporting add-ons are listed separately.
Semrush SEO + AI Search Advanced $455.67/month billed annually This is a separate plan family from SEO Classic; the vendor describes it for agencies and organizations scaling across sites or markets.
Ahrefs Lite $129/month Check current billing details and included project, keyword, user, and crawl-credit limits.
Ahrefs Standard $249/month Check current billing details and included project, keyword, user, and crawl-credit limits.
Ahrefs Advanced $449/month Check current billing details and included project, keyword, user, and crawl-credit limits.
Ahrefs Enterprise $1,499/month with annual commitment required for this price Check the current plan details and included limits before comparing against other tiers.
SE Ranking Core From $103.20/month Vendor pricing snapshot; the Agency Pack is a separate add-on.
SE Ranking Growth From $223.20/month Vendor pricing snapshot; the Agency Pack is a separate add-on.
SE Ranking Agency Pack From $69/month billed annually Add this to an eligible base subscription when calculating the bill. Vendor pages describe white labeling, reports, and agency features.
AgencyAnalytics $20 USD per client per month billed annually Vendor notes that regional billing and pricing may vary; pricing page lists unlimited data sources, reports and dashboards, staff accounts, 85+ integrations, automated reporting, and a white-labeled client portal.
AgencyAnalytics Rank Tracker $41.67/month per 500 keywords billed annually Listed separately from the per-client AgencyAnalytics rate.

For the Semrush prices, the plan descriptions and prices above come from the vendor’s 2026 page snapshot; for Ahrefs, the vendor’s 2026 page snapshot lists the displayed tier prices and notes annual commitment for Enterprise. SE Ranking’s Core, Growth, and Agency Pack prices and AgencyAnalytics’ per-client and Rank Tracker prices are likewise vendor page snapshots accessed in 2026. Treat each as a changing commercial fact rather than a fixed quote.

Separate white-label delivery from SEO research

“White label” can mean different things: a branded report, a client-facing portal, or a customized version of the software interface. Those are not interchangeable. Verify exactly what clients will see, whether they can log in, and whether branding is included in the base plan or sold separately.

Semrush

The SEO Classic pricing page lists report add-ons, including a Pro Report add-on with branding and white labeling. That is different from assuming the core platform itself is a white-labeled client portal. The vendor’s agency page describes workflows and capabilities for large clients across markets, product lines, and sub-brands; that positioning is not independent evidence of superior results.

SE Ranking

The Agency Pack is an add-on, and official support documentation describes customization of the platform and reports, client seats, lead generation, and scheduled reporting. The vendor says it is available with eligible annual Core, Growth, or Enterprise subscriptions. Check current eligibility: legacy plans may differ, and the vendor’s pages do not align on an exact client-seat count.

AgencyAnalytics

The vendor positions the product around dashboards and reporting. Its pricing page lists a white-labeled client portal, while its SEO reporting page describes branded templates and automated daily, weekly, or monthly delivery. The vendor also lists Rank Tracker separately. These details make it relevant to reporting and client delivery, but do not establish it as a replacement for every keyword, competitor, or backlink research platform.

Ahrefs

The pricing comparison includes an Agency directory listing, but the cited product information does not establish the same white-label portal capability described by dedicated reporting products. If branded access is a requirement, confirm the precise client-facing features rather than inferring them from agency-oriented features.

Build a realistic agency cost estimate

Calculate cost using the roster and workflow you expect to serve, rather than multiplying one advertised price without checking its limits. A low entry price can stop being economical if the team needs extra users, more tracked keywords, additional reporting, API access, or client seats.

  1. Count the workload. Record active projects or websites, locations, tracked keywords, expected crawl volume, and client accounts.
  2. Map people and permissions. Count staff who need access, identify who needs manager permissions, and decide whether clients need portal access or only scheduled reports.
  3. List required deliverables. Specify branded reports, custom portal experience, report frequency, integrations, and any API or automation needs.
  4. Price the complete configuration. Add base subscriptions, required add-ons, extra users, and any separately priced tracking or reporting features. For a per-client plan, use your expected client count; for a plan with usage limits, check that your expected workload fits.
  5. Compare billing commitments. Put monthly and annual options on a consistent time basis and account for the commitment required to receive a displayed annual price.

For example, an agency evaluating SE Ranking should not treat the Agency Pack’s starting price as the total subscription cost: it is described as an add-on to an eligible base plan. An AgencyAnalytics estimate should account separately for its per-client rate and any Rank Tracker allowance needed. Neither example yields a universal total because client counts and usage requirements vary.

A practical selection framework

Choose a broad SEO suite when research is the priority

If the agency regularly handles keyword discovery, competitor analysis, backlinks, technical audits, and rank tracking, start by comparing the relevant research-suite limits against actual account needs. Evaluate Semrush’s SEO Classic and SEO + AI Search families separately. Assess Ahrefs by its tier-specific projects, tracked keywords, user allowances, crawl credits, and API or MCP access rather than by its name or headline price.

Choose a reporting layer when client delivery is the bottleneck

If specialists already have research workflows but account teams spend too much time consolidating data and preparing branded updates, assess AgencyAnalytics’ data sources, integrations, portal, and scheduled reporting. Check whether its separately priced Rank Tracker is appropriate for the keyword volume you need, and whether the reporting connections cover the sources your clients expect.

Prioritize branded platform access when clients need their own view

If clients need to sign in to a branded interface as well as receive branded reports, focus on the exact white-label scope, eligible plan, and client-seat terms. SE Ranking’s Agency Pack is explicitly described as customizing its platform and reports; confirm current eligibility and seat details. Do not treat a branded report add-on as equivalent to a white-labeled portal.

Use more than one tool only to fill a defined gap

A research suite and a reporting layer may serve complementary roles, but the combined subscription should solve a real workflow problem. Before adding a second platform, identify the capability the first lacks, the data that must flow between products, and the total recurring cost at your client and usage levels.

What this comparison can and cannot establish

The product descriptions and prices here are vendor-published snapshots, not hands-on tests or independent head-to-head benchmarks. They support comparing stated plan positioning, operational allowances, branded delivery features, and commercial models. They do not prove that one platform produces better SEO outcomes, has more accurate data, or earns an agency more revenue.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
