There is no evidence-backed universal winner. Choose the Scuf Omega if you will use its unusually large set of programmable inputs, the Razer Raiju V3 Pro if removable rear controls, wireless-dongle setup and stated battery endurance matter most, or the DualSense Edge if keeping Sony’s DualSense experience is your priority. None of the available evidence proves that one is universally more accurate, comfortable, durable or lower-latency. Your hand size, preferred button locations, game genres and current local price should decide the purchase.
Quick verdict
| Controller | Best match | Defining strengths | Important compromises |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scuf Omega | Players who want the most programmable inputs | 28 total inputs, including 11 additional customizable controls; four rear paddles, two side buttons and five G-Keys; TMR sticks; adjustable Instant Triggers; app profiles | Vibration modules are removed; battery life reported by a reviewer at around 17 hours, rather than a controlled comparison figure |
| Razer Raiju V3 Pro | Competitive players who prefer removable rear buttons and wireless-dongle operation | Four removable rear buttons, two claw-grip bumpers, TMR sticks, software customization, up to 36 hours of battery life claimed by Razer | No haptic feedback, no PS5 wake-from-sleep function, and a 258 g listed weight |
| DualSense Edge | Players who prioritize Sony’s native DualSense feature set | First-party PS5 option built around retaining the DualSense experience | The supplied product material does not establish a complete current specification list, input count, battery figure or weight for a like-for-like table |
The practical difference is not the word “pro” on the box. It is where the extra controls sit, whether you want immersive controller feedback, how you connect to each device and whether you can reach every control without accidental presses.
What actually separates these controllers
Extra inputs and their placement
PlayStation’s May 2026 Omega announcement counts 28 total inputs, with 11 additional customizable inputs: four rear paddles, two side buttons and five G-Keys. That is the clearest numerical advantage in the comparison, but more inputs are useful only when your fingers can reliably reach them.
Recommended Free Tools
Razer documents four removable rear buttons and two additional claw-grip bumpers on the Raiju V3 Pro. Removing buttons can make the layout less crowded for a particular game, while leaving them installed gives you more actions without moving your thumbs from the sticks. The exact DualSense Edge configuration should be checked in Sony’s current product and support documentation before you buy; the available material does not provide a verified count for this comparison.
#1 Best Overall
- Ultra Customizable Controls
- Mappable Back Buttons
- DualSense Wireless Controller Features Built In
- Replaceable Stick Modules and Caps
Consider your games rather than counting controls in isolation. A shooter player may map jump, crouch, reload or a melee action to rear fingers. In a fighting game, side or claw-grip buttons may be easier to use than widely spaced paddles. In a single-player adventure, two extra controls may be enough and a larger array may create more opportunities for mis-presses.
Immersion versus a competition-first design
The Omega launch announcement says its vibration modules were removed. Razer states that the Raiju V3 Pro has no haptic feedback. Those omissions can be attractive if you want a lighter, less distracting competitive setup, but they are drawbacks if weapon feedback, rumble or other controller sensations are central to your PS5 experience.
The DualSense Edge is the natural candidate for someone who wants Sony’s native DualSense experience. Because a complete current Edge specification was not included in the source material, verify the exact feedback features, modes and included accessories on Sony’s current listing before treating it as a technical match for the standard controller.

SCUF describes the Omega as using TMR sticks and adjustable Instant Triggers. Razer also documents TMR sticks and trigger customization for the Raiju V3 Pro. TMR describes the sensing approach; it is not evidence that a controller can never develop drift or that it has a guaranteed lifespan. Adjustable triggers can be useful when you alternate between games that need a short actuation and games that benefit from a longer pull.
Do not select a controller solely because it uses TMR sensors. The position of the sticks, the travel of the triggers, the shape of the grips and your ability to reach the rear controls will have a more immediate effect on whether the layout suits you.

- Play on more devices using the USB Type-C cable or Bluetooth to connect easily to Windows PC and Mac computers, Android and iOS mobile phones as well as your PlayStation 5
Connections, platforms and software
The Omega product information identifies PS5 and PC compatibility. PlayStation’s launch post additionally names Mac, iOS and Android, while also noting that platform-specific compatibility should be checked. The Raiju V3 Pro is documented for PS5 and PC and uses a USB-A wireless dongle. Its customization requires the relevant Razer software or app, so check your computer, phone and operating-system requirements before assuming every feature can be configured from the console.
On PS5, Razer lists a 250 Hz wireless polling rate. For wired PC use, it lists 2000 Hz polling. These are manufacturer specifications under their stated connection modes, not proof that the controller will produce a measurable advantage in every game. The Razer page also says the controller cannot wake a PS5 from sleep, which means you may need to press the console’s power button or use another paired controller.

Why it appeals
The Omega is the strongest fit for players who have a deliberate mapping plan and want many actions available without removing their thumbs from the analog sticks. Its documented layout combines four rear paddles, two side buttons and five G-Keys, and PlayStation describes 28 inputs in total. The companion app supports customization and profiles, allowing you to prepare different mappings for different games rather than rebuilding them each time.
Adjustable Instant Triggers are aimed at players who want to change trigger travel, while TMR sticks are intended to provide a modern sensing design. These features address control preference, not proven accuracy or durability. If you play several genres, the ability to keep separate profiles may matter more than the raw input count.
What you give up
PlayStation says vibration modules were removed from the Omega. That is a clear trade-off for anyone who expects standard rumble or other tactile feedback in PS5 games. TechRadar’s June 2026 review listed battery life at around 17 hours. Treat that as a review-context figure, not a controlled battery test or a guarantee for every firmware version, connection mode and usage pattern.

- Aim and move with precision by swapping in fresh stick modules* so you’re always playing with equipment that’s in great shape. Plus, three types of changeable stick caps help you stay comfortable in-game without sacrificing grip or stability.
- Mappable back buttons The DualSense Edge wireless controller’s two swappable sets of back buttons can be configured to any other button input, so you’ve always got game-changing actions and essential controls at your fingertips.
- Adjustable trigger lengths Manually set the travel distance of your left and right triggers for an optimal experience with whatever you’re playing. Fast-paced FPS? Set a shorter travel distance to shoot faster on the field. Competitive racer? Set a longer travel distance for precise throttle control on the track.
- Remappable buttons Remap or even deactivate specific button inputs, so you can create a completely personalized control setup that’s ideal for the game at hand.
- Quick-swap control profiles Once you’ve found your ideal control settings, you can save them to unique profiles and swap between them on-the-fly, so your favourite configurations are always ready when you are.
SCUF’s US product page showed $219.99 when accessed, and the PlayStation launch announcement gave a recommended retail price of $219.99 in the United States, €239.99 in Europe, £209.99 in the United Kingdom and ¥37,980 in Japan on May 12, 2026. Regional taxes, stock and later promotions can change the amount you actually pay.
Who should avoid it
- Players who consider rumble or haptic effects essential.
- Players who do not want to learn a dense control layout.
- Anyone buying on the assumption that TMR means drift is impossible.
- People whose preferred platform or mode has not been confirmed for the exact Omega configuration they plan to use.
Razer Raiju V3 Pro: removable controls and long stated endurance
Why it appeals
The Raiju V3 Pro is aimed at players who want a competitive layout but do not necessarily want every extra button installed permanently. Razer documents four removable rear buttons and two claw-grip bumpers. You can keep the controls that make sense for a particular game and remove the ones that interfere with your grip.
Razer claims up to 36 hours of battery life. “Up to” is a manufacturer maximum, so actual time will depend on wireless mode, lighting or other settings, firmware and usage. The controller connects wirelessly to PS5 through its USB-A dongle and is also documented for PC. Razer lists a 258 g weight, a 250 Hz wireless polling rate on PS5 and a 2000 Hz wired polling rate on PC.
What you give up
The manufacturer states that the Raiju V3 Pro has no haptic feedback. It also does not support waking a PS5 from sleep. If you regularly start the console from the sofa with the controller, that limitation is more important than a headline polling number.
Razer’s TMR sticks and adjustable customization options address the same broad preferences as the Omega, but they do not establish a guaranteed drift-free life or a universal performance advantage. The removable-button design is valuable only if the supplied shapes and positions work for your hands.

Who should avoid it
- Players who want Sony’s full native DualSense sensation.
- People who need console wake-from-sleep support from the controller.
- Buyers whose computer lacks a convenient USB-A port for the wireless dongle, unless they have a suitable adapter.
- Anyone interpreting the 36-hour figure as a guaranteed runtime in all conditions.
DualSense Edge: the first-party choice
The DualSense Edge belongs on this shortlist for a different reason: it is the choice for readers who want Sony’s own DualSense-oriented experience rather than a controller designed around removing feedback for competition. That makes it the logical starting point when immersion, first-party PS5 integration and familiarity matter more than the largest possible number of rear inputs.
The supplied material does not establish a complete, current list of Edge specifications. Before purchase, confirm Sony’s current information for its rear controls, stick and trigger adjustments, battery expectations, wireless and wired modes, included parts and PC support. Do not assume that an Edge listing has the same input count, weight or endurance as either rival.
For a player who uses only a few extra commands, the Edge may be easier to understand than the Omega’s 11 additional customizable inputs. For a player who has a proven four-paddle or multi-button workflow, the Omega or Raiju may be a closer physical match. Those are layout decisions, not a ranking of overall quality.

Price and value: how to compare fairly
There is no synchronized current three-way price check in the available material. TechRadar’s June 2026 review reported review-time prices of $219.99/£209.99 for the Omega, $219.99/£199.99 for the Razer and $199.99/£199.99 for the Edge. Those figures describe that review period and should not be presented as live prices.

Compare the exact local listing, warranty, return terms, included cables or cases and replacement-part availability. A cheaper controller is not better value if you cannot return it after discovering that the rear controls are uncomfortable. Conversely, paying more for inputs you never map is wasteful.
Choose by play style
Competitive shooters and action games
Start with the Omega if you routinely map many actions and want the largest documented pool of controls. Choose the Raiju if you prefer to remove some rear buttons, use claw-grip bumpers or prioritize the manufacturer’s longer stated maximum battery life. Decide whether the lack of vibration or haptics is acceptable before considering either one.
Immersive single-player games
Begin with the DualSense Edge if preserving Sony’s controller sensations is your main requirement. The Omega and Raiju deliberately omit some feedback hardware, so their extra controls do not compensate for that loss if rumble and haptics are central to your enjoyment.

Mixed genres
Profile flexibility matters most. The Omega’s 11 additional customizable inputs can support different mappings, while the Raiju’s removable controls let you simplify the physical layout. If you only need a small number of changes and want a familiar first-party approach, investigate the Edge’s current configuration.
Travel, PC and mobile use
Confirm the exact connection mode before buying. Omega’s launch announcement names Mac, iOS and Android in addition to PS5 and PC, but compatibility can differ by mode. The Raiju is documented for PS5 and PC and requires its USB-A dongle for wireless operation. Do not infer mobile or Mac support for the Razer or Edge from their PS5 compatibility.
Setup checklist
- List the games and actions you actually need. Write down which commands you want off the analog sticks and how many extra inputs are necessary.
- Choose the feedback profile. Keep the Omega and Raiju in contention only if removed vibration or absent haptics will not bother you. Put the Edge first if Sony’s native sensations are non-negotiable.
- Confirm platform and connection. Check the manufacturer’s current instructions for PS5, PC, Mac, iOS or Android, and verify whether your computer has the required USB port or software.
- Plan the mappings. Assign one action per rear, side or claw control and test for accidental presses before committing to a profile.
- Check current local pricing. Compare the final price after tax and shipping, plus warranty and return conditions, rather than relying on launch or review prices.
- Try the shape if possible. Manufacturer specifications do not establish hand comfort. A retailer with a return window or a local demo is safer than assuming that a popular layout will fit you.
Common buying mistakes
- Choosing by input count alone: unused buttons add complexity and can cause mis-presses.
- Treating TMR as a no-drift guarantee: the technology does not prove an unlimited service life.
- Comparing battery numbers as if they were laboratory results: “up to 36 hours” from Razer and “around 17 hours” from a TechRadar review are different-source figures under different conditions.
- Assuming every platform works identically: check whether a feature is available on PS5, PC, Mac, iOS or Android before purchase.
- Ignoring wake-from-sleep behavior: the Raiju V3 Pro does not wake a PS5 from sleep.
- Using old prices as current value judgments: the cited launch and review prices are date- and region-specific.
Bottom line
Buy the Scuf Omega for the broadest documented programmable layout, the Razer Raiju V3 Pro for removable rear controls and Razer’s stated wireless endurance, or the DualSense Edge when retaining Sony’s DualSense-oriented experience matters most. Compare the current price in your region, verify platform details and test the physical fit whenever possible; the evidence does not support declaring one controller the best for everyone.
