There is no honest four-way verdict yet: “This API” is not identified in the available evidence. What can be compared are ScrapingBee, Firecrawl, and BuiltWith—and they serve meaningfully different web-data jobs. ScrapingBee focuses on retrieving and extracting page content, Firecrawl offers a broader set of scraping and crawling workflows, and BuiltWith provides website-technology data.

What “This API” means—and why it matters

The title names a fourth API only as “This API,” without a vendor or product name. The available documentation supports comparisons of ScrapingBee, Firecrawl, and BuiltWith, but does not establish what the fourth product is. So this article can explain the three named services and how to choose among them; it cannot make a complete four-product comparison or infer a winner.

That gap matters because these services do not all return the same kind of data. A tool for getting page HTML is not automatically comparable to one that identifies technologies across domains. Before treating any three-way comparison as a substitute for the intended four-way one, identify the missing API and check whether it solves the same job.

How the three named services differ

Service Documented role Best-fit question Output or workflow detail established by the documentation
ScrapingBee A URL-oriented API for retrieving HTML, with JavaScript rendering, proxy options, selector-based extraction, and AI extraction options. Do you need to request a page and configure how it is rendered or extracted? Its API documentation says JavaScript rendering is enabled by default and request credit use varies with settings.
Firecrawl A set of web-data workflows rather than only a single-page scrape. Do you need discovery or crawling workflows alongside page scraping and structured extraction? Documentation covers scrape, search, map, crawl, batch scraping, and structured extraction examples. Enhanced-mode documentation describes proxy options with different credit costs.
BuiltWith A Domain API for information about technologies detected on websites, including current and historical data. Do you want to identify the technologies associated with a website rather than extract arbitrary page content? Its documentation lists XML, JSON, CSV, and XLSX access to website technology information.

Choose by the data job, not by the product label

Choose a page-retrieval workflow when you need page content

ScrapingBee’s documented fit is a request-based HTML workflow with rendering and extraction controls. It is a candidate when the input is a page URL and the desired result is its HTML or selected content. Its JavaScript-rendering default and configurable settings affect request credit use, so check the API documentation for the settings your workload actually needs.

Choose a broader crawl workflow when discovery is part of the task

Firecrawl documents distinct scrape, search, map, crawl, and batch-scrape operations, as well as structured extraction examples. That breadth may fit a project that needs to discover or process multiple pages through different workflows. Its feature list alone does not establish that it will be faster, more reliable, or cheaper for your particular workload.

Choose technology data when the question is what a site uses

BuiltWith’s Domain API is aimed at website technology information, including historical as well as current detections. Its documented export formats are XML, JSON, CSV, and XLSX. That makes its stated purpose different from a general page-content extraction workflow: decide whether you need technology records about a domain or content retrieved from pages on that domain.

Credits and prices are not directly comparable

Each vendor’s credit units describe its own product; the documented numbers do not establish that one credit buys the same amount of work across services. Compare the operation you need, its settings, the output you receive, and the applicable usage limits—not just a headline credit count.

Service Documented usage information How to interpret it
ScrapingBee The API documentation lists request costs from 1 to 75 API credits depending on proxy and rendering settings; AI extraction adds 5 credits. These are ScrapingBee-specific costs. A request’s configuration changes its credit use.
Firecrawl Enhanced-mode documentation lists basic proxy at 1 credit, enhanced at 5 credits, and auto mode at 1 credit if basic succeeds or 5 if an enhanced retry succeeds. These are Firecrawl-specific figures for the documented proxy modes, not a cross-vendor unit.
BuiltWith A comparable credit cost is not stated in the reviewed Domain API documentation. Check the applicable BuiltWith terms for the API access and data volume you need.

A ScrapingBee plan article updated 17 October 2025 listed the following monthly plans and said prices exclude VAT. These are figures from that dated vendor page, not a verified quote for October 2026; check the vendor’s current plan information before budgeting.

ScrapingBee plan listed on 17 October 2025 Monthly API credits Concurrent requests Listed price per month
Freelance 250,000 10 $49.99
Startup 1 million 50 $99.99
Business 3 million 100 $249.99
Business+ 8 million 200 $599.99

The available evidence does not establish equivalent, date-matched plan prices or limits for Firecrawl and BuiltWith, so these figures cannot support a price ranking among the three.

What the available evidence cannot tell you

  • Which service is fastest: the reviewed product documentation does not provide a controlled, comparable benchmark.
  • Which is most reliable: there is no comparable reliability measurement here.
  • Which is best overall or cheapest: the products target different data jobs, their credits are not equivalent, and equivalent current pricing was not established.
  • How the unnamed API compares: its identity and product details are missing, so no fourth row or meaningful head-to-head assessment is possible.

For a real selection decision, write down the input (a URL, a site to crawl, or a domain), the required output, the number and type of operations, and any rendering or proxy requirements. Then check the relevant vendor documentation and test the same representative workload on the services that actually offer that workflow. Measure the outputs and costs for that workload; do not treat feature breadth or vendor-specific credits as proof of performance.

Practical verdict

For page HTML with rendering and extraction controls, ScrapingBee’s documented workflow is the closest fit. For a combination of scraping, search, mapping, crawling, batch processing, and structured extraction, Firecrawl documents the broader workflow set. For current or historical website technology information in several export formats, BuiltWith’s Domain API is the purpose-built option. These are task-fit distinctions, not a performance ranking. The comparison remains incomplete until “This API” is identified.
