Schneider Electric raised its 2026 growth outlook again on July 30, 2026, as data-center construction—particularly AI-ready infrastructure—continued to generate unusually strong demand. The upgrade followed a powerful first half, but currency, geopolitical, inflation and supply-chain pressures still make the forecast conditional rather than guaranteed.
What Schneider Electric changed in its 2026 outlook
The company increased both its organic revenue and adjusted EBITA (earnings before interest, taxes and amortization) guidance. The previous targets came from Schneider’s February 2026 full-year release, which identified Data Center & Networks as the main growth engine.
| Measure | February 2026 target | July 30, 2026 target | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organic revenue growth | 7%–10% | 10%–13% | Range raised by 3 percentage points at both ends |
| Organic adjusted EBITA growth | 10%–15% | 14%–19% | Range raised by 4 percentage points at both ends |
Because both ranges moved up, Schneider is signaling confidence in demand and in its ability to convert that demand into operating profit. The EBITA upgrade is larger than the revenue upgrade in percentage-point terms, which points to expected operating leverage, although guidance is not a promise of a particular margin outcome.
Why data centers are driving the upgrade
AI-ready capacity is expanding the infrastructure opportunity
Schneider’s first-quarter update said Data Center & Networks demand was still growing at a double-digit rate despite a high comparison base. Customers were investing in AI-ready infrastructure as well as traditional data-center architectures, and the company described demand as broad across geographies.

This is a physical-infrastructure exposure, not simply a software or chip cycle. Reuters described Schneider’s data-center offering as spanning cooling units, server racks and critical power-distribution equipment. The wider portfolio also includes electrification, energy management, automation and digital systems needed to operate power-hungry facilities reliably.
Cloud construction is only part of the demand
Cloud providers are building facilities for accelerating AI workloads, but Schneider’s comments also cover conventional architectures. That matters because spending is not dependent on one type of server or one customer group. New capacity, upgrades to existing sites and the electrical systems needed to support higher power density can all contribute to orders.
How strong was the first half?
The guidance increase came after what Schneider characterized as a record first half. Group revenue reached €21.2 billion, up 14% organically. Adjusted EBITA was €4.1 billion, up 22% organically; net income was €2.5 billion, up 30%; and free cash flow reached €1.6 billion, up 244%.

Second-quarter revenue was €11.46 billion. Schneider reported a €124 million currency headwind in that quarter, showing that reported results can diverge from the underlying organic trend when exchange rates move against the company.
Where demand is strongest
North America represented the majority of Schneider’s data-center demand. The company also reported growth in other regions, indicating that the buildout is not confined to a single national market.
| Region | What Schneider reported | Region-specific growth rate |
|---|---|---|
| North America | Majority of data-center demand | Not stated in the cited company updates |
| Europe | Growth included in the company’s broader geographic commentary | Not stated |
| China & East Asia | Growth included in the company’s broader geographic commentary | Not stated |
| South Asia & International | Growth included in the company’s broader geographic commentary | Not stated |
The absence of regional percentages means the published figures support a conclusion about breadth, not a precise ranking beyond North America’s leading position.

Data centers versus Schneider’s other businesses
Data Center & Networks was the clearest demand leader in the updates. Schneider’s chief executive, Olivier Blum, said that data-center demand remained at a very high level while Energy Management delivered broad-based growth across all end markets during the first half.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute| Business demand | Evidence in the 2026 updates | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Data Center & Networks | Double-digit demand despite a high comparison base; AI-ready and traditional projects both contributing | Primary growth engine behind the raised outlook |
| Energy Management | Broad-based first-half growth across all end markets | Provides diversification beyond data-center construction |
| Other end markets | No separate growth rates were disclosed in the cited updates | Important to the group result, but not quantified individually |
Can data-center demand keep Schneider’s growth going?
Reasons the trend could persist
- AI services require new facilities, higher electrical capacity and more sophisticated cooling.
- Cloud companies are expanding while operators also modernize traditional architectures.
- North America is supplying a large share of demand, while activity is also spreading across other regions.
- Schneider sells across the electrical, cooling, automation and digital-control layers of a facility, giving it several ways to participate in one project.
Risks that could interrupt the outlook
- Currency: The second-quarter headwind demonstrates how exchange rates can reduce reported revenue even when organic demand remains healthy.
- Geopolitical disruption: Trade restrictions, regional instability or changes to data-center investment plans could delay projects or alter supply routes.
- Inflation: Higher costs for equipment, labor and construction can pressure customer budgets and Schneider’s profitability.
- Supply chains: Electrical equipment, cooling systems and other specialized components must arrive on lengthy project schedules; shortages can defer revenue.
- Demand concentration: With North America supplying the majority of data-center demand, a slowdown in that market would matter disproportionately.
What the guidance says about Schneider’s earnings—and what it does not
The raised ranges and first-half results provide clear evidence that AI- and cloud-related capital spending is contributing materially to Schneider’s earnings momentum. They do not establish a guaranteed share-price outcome, nor do they prove that data-center spending will remain at the same intensity throughout 2026. Investors must distinguish organic operating performance from reported results affected by currency and from future conditions that could change during the year.
For customers and industry watchers, the most useful signals are whether data-center demand remains resilient against the high prior-year comparison, whether growth continues outside North America, whether Energy Management stays broad-based, and whether currency and supply-chain effects widen. Schneider’s July upgrade is therefore both a stronger forecast and a test: the company now has to convert exceptional infrastructure demand into the higher full-year results it has promised.
