The Australian-market Scanpan STS 20cm x 12cm/3.5 Litre saucepan offers useful everyday details—capacity markings, a pouring spout and a glass lid designed for draining—but the available product information does not establish how it performs against other saucepans. Its listed weight is 1.9 kg, and the lid’s stated oven limit depends on which source you consult. Check the exact regional model and live price before buying.
Which saucepan does this review cover?
This is the Australian-market SCANPAN STS saucepan labeled 20 cm x 12 cm/3.5 Litre. That wording matters: SCANPAN Europe’s general STS page lists 14, 16 and 18 cm variants in the retrieved page text, while SCANPAN UK identifies a 20 cm, 3.4 L product as a Dutch oven. Those are not interchangeable descriptions of this Australian 3.5 L saucepan.
SCANPAN Australia’s STS range page identifies the Australian range. The available listing from CHOICE matches the exact product name used here.

Lid, draining and pouring
SCANPAN describes a polished stainless-steel saucepan with a glass lid and steam vent. The lid has an integrated drainer, and the pan has an easy-pouring spout. Those features are intended to make it easier to drain liquid and pour from the pan without transferring food to a separate colander; they are design details, not proof of a particular cooking result.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Capacity and base
The pan has internal capacity markings, which can help when measuring liquid in the pot. SCANPAN says its stainless-steel base has an aluminium core to conduct heat. The manufacturer also says the STS body uses at least 90% recycled steel; that is a SCANPAN range claim, not an independently verified finding in the available product listing.
How heavy is it, and what are the listed specifications?
CHOICE lists a stated volume of 3.5 L, a weight of 1.9 kg, a base thickness of 0.4 cm and China as the country of origin. The listing does not show a test score or a specific performance result, so these specifications should not be read as evidence that the saucepan cooks better or worse than competing models.

Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThere is a discrepancy in the oven guidance. SCANPAN Europe’s STS product page says the series is ovenproof to 250°C, including the lid. CHOICE’s listing for this exact saucepan specifies up to 250°C without the lid and 220°C with it. For safe use, follow the manual supplied with your model or confirm the limit with the seller rather than assuming the higher range-level limit applies to the lid.

It is harder to make a performance-based recommendation from the available information: CHOICE’s listing provides specifications but no visible test result for cooking performance.
