The dependable Satisfactory dedicated-server console commands are quit, stop, exit, server.SaveGame <saveName>, server.GenerateAPIToken, and server.InvalidateAPITokens. Enter them in the dedicated server’s Server Manager → Console tab. Type ? first to see what your current build exposes. A genuinely complete, version-independent list is not possible: several older FG.* commands are reported as unsupported from Update 8 onward, while other guides still document them.

This guide separates commands consistently reported to work from build-dependent or client-only commands, then shows safer alternatives in the Server Manager, configuration files, and HTTPS API.

Where Satisfactory server commands run

These are dedicated-server console commands, not commands entered in a normal game chat window. Open the dedicated server’s Server Manager, select the Console tab, and submit the command there. The console is the place to test whether a command exists on your particular server executable.

  1. Connect to the dedicated server in Server Manager.
  2. Open Console.
  3. Enter ? and submit it. On many builds this prints the commands currently registered by the server.
  4. Run a low-risk command, such as a named save, before relying on a setting or an older guide.

Command availability changes with game updates. Update 8 is especially important because community reports say a number of FG.* commands stopped being recognized. Guides also cite version 5.0.4 when discussing command behavior. Treat the output of ? on your own installation as authoritative for that installation.

  • [Games need exclusions and runtimes, not malware]Some customers ask why our retro game drives can trigger Windows Security warnings. Many game files are older DLLs that Windows Defender sometimes flags as threats. They are not viruses or malware—just old or uncommon code causing false positives. We temporarily add them to the exclusion list so they aren't blocked, then re-enable Security to keep your PC protected. Many classic games also need legacy VC++ and DirectX runtimes, which modern Windows doesn't include by default. Installing them ensures compatibility and smooth play. Your safety matters to us—these are safe, standard steps for retro games.

Core commands that multiple guides agree on

Command Syntax What it does Important qualification
quit quit Shuts down the server process. Use when you intentionally want the process to terminate.
stop stop Shuts down the server process. Equivalent shutdown wording is reported across guides; verify behavior on your build.
exit exit Shuts down the server process. Keep a management or operating-system restart plan ready before using it.
server.SaveGame server.SaveGame <saveName> Creates a named save of the current session. Put the name in quotation marks when it contains spaces.
server.GenerateAPIToken server.GenerateAPIToken Creates an application token for the server’s HTTPS API. Handle the returned token as a secret.
server.InvalidateAPITokens server.InvalidateAPITokens Revokes all existing API tokens. Every client using an invalidated token must be configured with a new one.
? ? Lists available commands on many builds. The result can differ by game version and server configuration.

Shutdown commands: quit, stop, and exit

All three names are reported as process-shutdown commands. They are useful when changing configuration files, applying an update, or performing maintenance that requires the dedicated server to be offline.

Before you shut down

  • Warn connected players; a process exit disconnects everyone.
  • Create a named save with server.SaveGame if you need a clearly identifiable restore point.
  • Confirm that your host can start the server again, either through its control panel, service manager, or launch script.

Which spelling should you use?

There is no consistently documented functional difference among the three spellings. Use the one displayed by ? on your build, and do not assume that a third-party panel treats all three names identically. If one is rejected, try another name shown by the console rather than adding punctuation or parameters.

Creating a named save with server.SaveGame

The command takes one save-name argument:

server.SaveGame WeekendBackup

For a name containing spaces, quote the argument:

server.SaveGame "Before Update 8 Test"

A named save is useful before an update, configuration change, mod change, or experiment with a disputed command. The command saves the current session under the supplied name; it does not, by itself, shut down the server or create an external backup of the save directory. Keep a separate backup procedure if you need protection from disk failure or file corruption.

Names and verification

  • Use simple names with a date or purpose, such as 2026-10-14-pre-network-test.
  • Quote names with spaces so the console passes them as one argument.
  • Watch the console response and check the server’s save list or management interface afterward.
  • If the command is rejected, run ? and confirm the exact capitalization and punctuation shown by your build.

HTTPS API token commands

Generate a token

server.GenerateAPIToken

This creates an application token for the dedicated server’s HTTPS API. Generate it from the Server Manager Console, copy it immediately according to the server’s response, and store it in a password manager or protected secret store. Do not paste it into public chat, screenshots, issue reports, or source-controlled configuration.

Revoke every token

server.InvalidateAPITokens

This revokes all existing API tokens, not just one selected credential. Use it after a suspected leak or when retiring integrations, then issue and distribute a replacement token only to the systems that still need access. Because the command is global, schedule the change so dependent tools are not unexpectedly disconnected.

Console versus API

The console commands create or revoke credentials; they are not a substitute for an HTTPS API client. Use the API for automation that your server build supports, and use Server Manager for settings that the API does not expose. The token commands themselves should be considered administrative operations and restricted to trusted operators.

Why the “complete list” is disputed

Secondary guides disagree about legacy FG.* commands. One guide documents them as working, the Fandom wiki says FG.xxx commands are not supported from Update 8 onward, and a community report says Update 8 returns “command not recognized” for both FG.AutosaveInterval and FG.NetworkQuality. The official wiki’s console section is described as listing server.* commands and one FG.DedicatedServer command, which is not the same as confirming every historical FG.* entry.

Consequently, do not treat a copied list of FG.* commands as universal. Test the exact command with ? or a controlled change, and have a recovery save before experimenting.

Build-dependent FG.* commands

FG.AutosaveInterval

One guide gives FG.AutosaveInterval <seconds> and cites a default of 300 seconds. Other material says the command is unsupported from Update 8, and a community Q&A reports “command not recognized” on Update 8. Do not infer that the 300-second value applies to your server; it is a value reported by one guide, not a current universal default.

FG.NetworkQuality

A guide states that FG.NetworkQuality 3 matches the client’s “Ultra” setting. The same Update 8 compatibility warning applies, so a successful-looking entry in an old guide is not evidence that the command exists on your build.

FG.DisableSeasonalEvents

One guide lists this command as a way to toggle the FICSmas event and says a restart is required. It is not corroborated by the other reviewed sources. If your console does list it, test it on a copy or after a named save, and plan a restart only if the server confirms the setting changed.

FG.DedicatedServer

The official wiki is reported to list one command with this prefix, but the available material does not establish its complete syntax or behavior. Do not invent arguments; rely on the syntax printed by ? on your server.

Autosave and network-quality settings: resolve the conflict safely

Several guides place these settings in different locations, and their names, units, and capitalization do not match. The safest approach is to identify which layer your build actually uses.

Reported method Reported value or syntax Why it needs verification
Server Manager Settings tab Autosave interval in minutes; network-quality setting exposed by the UI. A configuration guide says the UI is the supported place, while other guides describe console or INI methods.
Console FG.AutosaveInterval <seconds> Reported default is 300 seconds, but Update 8 reports say the command is rejected.
GameUserSettings.ini mFloatValues=(("FG.AutosaveInterval", 900.000000)) A Fandom-style guide uses seconds; another guide uses a different key and says minutes.
INI variant FG.AutoSaveInterval = 180 A hosting guide uses a capital “S” and states minutes, conflicting with the other spelling and unit.
ServerSettings.ini NetworkQuality=3 A hosting guide shows this entry, but it is not proof that the console command works.

A practical identification procedure

  1. Make a named save first.
  2. In Server Manager, open Settings and change one value by a distinctive amount.
  3. Stop the server cleanly with a shutdown command that your console accepts.
  4. Compare the relevant INI files before and after the change. This reveals whether your build writes GameUserSettings.ini, ServerSettings.ini, or neither.
  5. Restart and confirm the value in the UI or with a visible in-game effect. If the file is overwritten on startup, the UI or a server-generated setting is the authoritative layer.
  6. Only then automate the change or document it for other administrators.

Do not mix the seconds value from one guide with the minutes value from another, and do not silently change capitalization. A setting that appears accepted can still be ignored if the key, unit, or file is wrong.

Settings available outside the console

Autosave interval, network quality, maximum players, and allowing cheats are reported as configuration values. A SurvivalConfigs guide says its defaults were verified in May 2026, but defaults can still vary by build and host. Check the actual files generated for your server rather than copying a generic defaults table.

Use the Server Manager Settings tab when it exposes the option; use INI editing when the UI does not expose it and you have a verified key; use the HTTPS API only for settings that your API version documents. Always stop the server before editing files, keep a backup, and make one change at a time.

Commands that do not work as dedicated-server administration

Creative and cheat commands

Fly, Ghost, GiveItem, and Teleport may appear in autocomplete or in lists aimed at a local player, but they are reported not to work on dedicated servers. Their presence in autocomplete is therefore not proof of server-side support.

Client debugging commands

Stat FPS and Stat Unit are client-side debugging commands. They measure or display information for the player’s client and are not dedicated-server console commands. Run them only in the context where your client build supports them; do not expect them to change server state.

Missing “admin” verbs

Satisfactory does not provide universally supported in-game dedicated-server commands for kick, ban, or give. Player administration is handled through the Server Manager interface, INI configuration, or the HTTPS API, depending on the task and your server version. A third-party list promising a single console command for those actions is likely describing a mod, a different edition, or an outdated build.

Troubleshooting a rejected or ineffective command

  1. Check the location. Make sure you are in Server Manager’s Console tab, not game chat or a client debug console.
  2. Run ?. If the command is absent, treat it as unavailable on this build.
  3. Match spelling exactly. Console names are case-sensitive in some implementations; preserve the capitalization shown by the server.
  4. Remove guessed arguments. Start with the documented syntax. For an uncertain command, do not append units, quotes, or flags until the console identifies them.
  5. Check the update level. Update 8 is a known fault line for FG.* commands; later patches can change behavior again.
  6. Confirm persistence. A command can be accepted for the current session yet fail to write the setting. Restart and inspect the UI or generated INI file.
  7. Restore safely. Revert the one changed setting, restore your backup, or load the named save if the server behaves unexpectedly.

A safe administrator workflow

  1. Record the game update and dedicated-server build shown by your host.
  2. Open Server Manager and capture the output of ?.
  3. Warn players and create a named save before maintenance.
  4. Use the Settings tab for exposed options; avoid undocumented FG.* commands unless your build lists them.
  5. For API access, generate a token, store it privately, and grant it only to the required integration.
  6. Test one change, restart if the command or setting requires it, and verify the result.
  7. Invalidate all API tokens immediately if one is exposed, then issue replacements deliberately.
  8. Keep a short change log containing the command, date, build, result, and rollback action.

What to remember about this command list

The stable foundation is small: process shutdown, named saves, API-token management, and the build’s own ? listing. The long lists circulating online mostly add version-sensitive FG.* entries or client-only cheats. For Update 8 and later, assume those legacy entries are unsupported until your console proves otherwise. When a setting has competing INI names or units, let Server Manager show you the setting and inspect which file it writes instead of trusting an unqualified example.
