SAP has classified CVE-2026-89111 as a Critical OAuth2 server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability, assigning it a CVSS score of 10.0. The issue affects versions of the SAP Cloud SDK for Python below 0.45.2 in a specific scenario involving multi-tenant SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) applications. Upgrade the SDK to version 0.45.2 or later; the advisory also describes an allowlist workaround for consumer applications.

What is the SAP OAuth2 SSRF vulnerability?

SAP’s October 13, 2026 Security Patch Day bulletin identifies CVE-2026-89111 as an OAuth2 SSRF vulnerability in the SAP Cloud SDK for Python. SAP rates it Critical with a CVSS score of 10.0. An SSRF flaw can cause a server-side application to make a request to a destination influenced by an attacker.

The SDK repository advisory describes the risk in multi-tenant BTP applications: if an attacker controls the tenant_subdomain parameter, token requests can be redirected to an attacker-controlled server, potentially exposing client credentials. The described impact is credential exposure through redirected OAuth2 requests; the advisory does not describe arbitrary code execution.

SAP Security Patch Day – October 2026 lists the vulnerability and severity. The SAP Cloud SDK for Python repository advisory provides the affected scenario and remediation.

Which SAP Cloud SDK for Python versions are affected?

SAP’s bulletin and the repository advisory identify versions below 0.45.2 as affected. Version 0.45.2 is the patched release named in the advisory.

SDK version Status Action
Below 0.45.2 Affected, according to SAP’s October 13, 2026 bulletin and repository advisory Upgrade
0.45.2 or later 0.45.2 is the patched version identified by the repository advisory Verify the application uses the patched release or a later release

This boundary applies to the named Python SDK. It does not mean every SAP system, BTP application, or OAuth2 deployment is affected.

How do I fix CVE-2026-89111?

Upgrade to the patched SDK

Update the SAP Cloud SDK for Python dependency to version 0.45.2 or later, then verify the version resolved for the application’s deployed environment. The advisory says 0.45.2 validates tenant_subdomain against RFC 1123 DNS label rules before inserting it into a token URL.

  1. Check the dependency declaration and lockfile for the SAP Cloud SDK for Python version used by the application.
  2. Change the dependency to 0.45.2 or later and refresh the lockfile using the project’s normal dependency-management process.
  3. Build and deploy the application with the updated dependency.
  4. Confirm the deployed environment resolves to 0.45.2 or later.

SAP’s bulletin recommends applying patches on priority. The repository advisory is the source for the specific fixed version and behavior.

Apply the documented workaround if an immediate upgrade is not possible

For consumer applications, the repository advisory recommends validating tenant_subdomain against an allowlist of registered tenant subdomains before passing the value to an SDK call. Treat this as a workaround, not a replacement for upgrading to the patched release.

Does the flaw affect my BTP application?

Check whether your application uses the SAP Cloud SDK for Python and whether it is multi-tenant. The advisory’s described attack path additionally depends on an attacker controlling the tenant_subdomain parameter passed into the SDK. If those conditions apply, prioritize the upgrade and ensure tenant subdomains are constrained. The sources do not establish that all BTP applications are affected, nor do they report exploitation prevalence, affected-customer counts, or incidents in the wild.
