To clear a voicemail notification on a Samsung phone, first listen to all new messages. If the alert stays on screen, Samsung recommends clearing the cache and data for the system Call settings app; if needed, repeat for the Phone app. To change how the alert sounds or appears, adjust voicemail notification settings. Turning voicemail service off is a carrier-side change, so contact your provider.
1. Listen to every new voicemail
Open voicemail from the notification or the Phone app and listen to all new messages. Samsung says the notification should normally disappear once new messages have been heard. Voicemail access and setup are provided through your network provider.
2. Clear a notification that remains
Samsung UK recommends clearing the cache and data for the system Call settings app. Menu names and locations can vary with Galaxy software version and carrier configuration, so look for the closest matching options.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps.
- Tap the sort or filter control, then enable Show system apps.
- Select Call settings, then tap Storage.
- Before tapping Clear data, note that Samsung says this resets the phone app and removes recent calls. Contacts are not removed.
- Tap Clear cache and Clear data.
If the voicemail notification remains, repeat the process for the Phone app. Samsung’s instructions are in its guide to removing voicemail notifications.

Depending on the phone and configuration, Samsung lists options such as Alert or Silent, sound selection when Alert is enabled, Show as pop-up, vibration, and lock-screen display. These settings change how notifications appear or sound; they do not necessarily mark a message as heard or switch off the voicemail mailbox.

Samsung states that voicemail is controlled by the network provider. If the indicator persists after you have checked messages and tried the phone-side steps, ask your provider to check the voicemail account. The same applies if you want the service turned off: Samsung directs customers to their provider rather than offering a universal device setting.

Call forwarding can be configurable in Phone settings on some devices, but whether it is available and how it interacts with voicemail depends on the carrier and line. Samsung’s Galaxy call-settings guidance notes that call and voicemail options vary by carrier. Google’s Phone app voicemail help also describes notification controls and carrier-related voicemail settings.
