You can’t set an SD card as the default internal storage for a Samsung tablet. Samsung devices do not support adoptable storage, so a microSD card cannot become the system-wide destination for apps and data. If your tablet supports microSD, you can still use the card for files and media, and move some apps when their storage settings allow it.
Check whether your Galaxy tablet supports microSD
Not every Samsung tablet has a microSD slot, and supported card capacities vary by model. Find your exact model number and check its specifications for both card support and the maximum capacity. Samsung cautions that available settings can also differ by model, carrier, and software version.
Samsung’s card overview describes microSD cards as up to 2 GB, microSDHC as over 2 GB up to 32 GB, and microSDXC as over 32 GB up to 2 TB. These are card-format ranges, not a promise that a particular tablet accepts a card of that size. For high-resolution video, Samsung recommends microSDXC for its greater capacity and high-speed read/write capability; check your tablet’s specifications before choosing a card. Move photos, videos, and other files to the SD card
Use Samsung’s My Files app to move or copy files. Moving removes the originals from internal storage after the transfer; copying leaves the originals in place. The card must be inserted and available for the SD card destination to appear.

Move an app only if its settings offer the option
Some apps can be moved to a microSD card, but the option is not available for every app. On a supported tablet, open Settings > Apps, select the app, tap Storage > Change > SD card > Move. If Change is missing, the app’s storage location cannot be changed. Preloaded apps and apps whose developers disallow removable storage are common exclusions. This option does not guarantee that all app data or future updates will reside on the card. Samsung UK Support: move apps to a memory card

Format or remove the card safely
Back up anything you need before formatting: formatting erases the card’s contents. On supported versions, the route is Settings > Battery and device care or Device care > Storage; switch to the SD card view, open More options, and choose Format. Labels and menus vary by model and software. Before physically removing a card, unmount it in Storage settings if your tablet provides that option. If card errors continue after formatting, Samsung advises replacing the card. Samsung Support: SD card troubleshooting
