Not as a native app, but a Samsung tablet can join a FaceTime call through a web link. Someone with a supported Apple device must create and send the link. On the tablet, open it in the latest Chrome or Microsoft Edge, enter a name, allow camera and microphone access if asked, tap Join, and wait for the host to admit you. You cannot start an outgoing FaceTime call from the tablet’s browser.
Can a Samsung tablet use FaceTime?
Samsung tablets run Android, and FaceTime does not have a native Android app. Apple’s web option lets an Android user join a call after an Apple user creates and shares a FaceTime link. Apple documents this browser participation for Android devices; it does not provide a model-by-model compatibility list for Samsung Galaxy Tab models. Apple’s FaceTime link instructions explain the link-based process.
The distinction is important: joining someone else’s call is possible, but placing an outgoing FaceTime call from Chrome on Android is not. Google’s Android help says Chrome can receive or join a FaceTime call using the link, but cannot make outgoing FaceTime calls. Google’s guidance for joining FaceTime calls on Android describes that limitation.

What the Apple user needs to do
The person hosting must create the link on an eligible Apple device: an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 15 or later, or a Mac running macOS Monterey or later. They then share the link with the Samsung tablet user. FaceTime links are not supported in mainland China, and link creation is not supported on iPhone models purchased in mainland China. Apple lists these requirements and regional limits.

How to join from a Samsung tablet
- Get the FaceTime link. Ask the Apple user to create a FaceTime link and send it to you.
- Open the link in Chrome or Edge. Apple specifies the latest Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for Android participation.
- Enter your name and join. If prompted, allow the browser to use the tablet’s camera and microphone, then tap Join.
- Wait for admission. The host must let you into the call; opening the link does not automatically connect you.
A strong Wi-Fi or mobile internet connection is also required. If the link does not open or your camera and microphone do not work, check that you are using a current supported browser and that its site permissions allow camera and microphone access.
What works—and what does not—in FaceTime on the web
Web participants can use several basic call controls, including muting or unmuting the microphone, turning the camera on or off, switching camera view when available, and viewing participants in a grid. The web experience does not include all FaceTime app features. Apple states: “SharePlay and screen sharing aren’t available in FaceTime on the web.” Apple’s FaceTime web guidance describes these controls and limitations.

When Google Meet is a better fit
If you want to start a video call from the Samsung tablet rather than wait for an Apple user to send a FaceTime link, Google Meet is a documented Android option. Google supports Meet on Android 5.0 and later, using the Meet or Gmail mobile app or a supported browser, with a compatible device and internet access. In Google Workspace, an administrator may need to enable Meet. Google’s Meet requirements provide the platform details.
On Android, you can create a meeting link in the Meet app and share it, or join a meeting on a phone or tablet with a link or meeting code. A Google account is not always required to join, but a host or another participant must admit a guest without an account; organizer and Workspace settings can also restrict access.
