The Samsung SRF582DBLS is a 583 L French-door refrigerator with a non-plumbed water dispenser and automatic ice maker, but CHOICE marks it discontinued and Samsung’s displayed owner reviews are strongly negative. Its specifications may suit a large household, yet buyers should verify stock, fit, warranty and operation carefully—especially if considering used or old-stock units.
What the Samsung SRF582DBLS offers
Samsung Australia identifies the SRF582DBLS as a 583 L, three-door French-door refrigerator in black stainless steel, with product code RF67QESG1/XSA. CHOICE classifies capacities of 525 L or more as extra large. Samsung lists these features: Samsung Australia product information and support.

Samsung’s appliance dimensions are 817 mm wide, 1,780 mm high with the hinge (1,745 mm without it), and 825 mm deep with the handle. Depth is 765 mm without the handle and 667 mm without the door. These are appliance measurements, not the full space needed to install and use the refrigerator.

CHOICE gives recommended installation dimensions of 102 cm wide, 193 cm high and 93 cm deep. Check the current installation manual and seller requirements for ventilation clearances, and measure the path through doorways and hallways. Detailed expert and performance scores, along with reliability and satisfaction results, are behind member access on the page. Its page lists a historical price of $2,749; that is not a current offer.

Owner accounts are mixed
Individual reports displayed on Samsung’s related-model page include a complaint about ice and water build-up followed by cooling trouble, and a 2019 owner report of nearly three years without trouble. The complaint was originally posted about the SRF582DBLS even though it appears under a related SRF583DLS page. Should you buy one now?
For a new purchase, first establish that a seller actually has stock: CHOICE identifies the SRF582DBLS as discontinued. Do not treat an old listing or historical price as evidence of present availability. If a unit is available, compare it with current options on verified capacity and layout, cavity dimensions, water and ice setup, energy label and claimed annual consumption, warranty for that specific unit, independent test results, and local seller or service support. Later French-door models may have different configurations and features; do not assume features from newer models apply to this one.
Before paying for used or old stock
- Ask for the exact model code and serial number, plus written warranty terms and the return period. CHOICE lists a two-year warranty in its review metadata, but that historical specification does not guarantee coverage for used or remaining stock; confirm what applies to the exact unit.
- Request proof that it cools correctly and, if possible, a demonstration of the ice maker and water dispenser operating.
- Inspect for visible moisture or ice build-up and ask about previous repairs. These are practical checks prompted by owner reports, not diagnoses of a particular fault.
- Measure the installation space and delivery route, including required clearances, door swing and access for the 106 kg appliance. Confirm delivery and installation conditions with the seller.

If you already own one and it has a fault
Use Samsung’s official support and manual resources for the SRF582DBLS, and arrange assessment by qualified service personnel. The available public information does not establish model-specific parts prices, current service coverage or a confirmed remedy for the complaints described above.
