Samsung’s published Galaxy guidance does not offer one universal manual screen-calibration procedure. If your screen misses or delays touches, work through the phone’s troubleshooting checks and Samsung Members diagnostics. If touches work but colors look wrong, check display and accessibility settings instead: touch response and color appearance are different issues.
How to troubleshoot a Galaxy touchscreen that responds poorly
Samsung identifies temporary system errors, screen protectors, accessibility settings, moisture, and third-party accessories as possible causes of abnormal touch response. Try these checks in order; setting names and availability can vary by model and software version.

Restart the phone
A temporary system error can affect touch response. On Samsung’s U.S. guidance, restart by holding the Side and Volume down keys for more than seven seconds.

Test without the case or screen protector
Accessories, moisture, or a protector can interfere with touch sensitivity or gestures. Temporarily remove the case and protector, then test the screen again.

Try Touch sensitivity if you use a protector
Open Settings > Display > Touch sensitivity and turn on the setting if it is available. Samsung notes this option may not appear on every model or software version.

Run the Samsung Members touchscreen check
On a supported device with Samsung Members installed, open Samsung Members > Support > Get started > Touch screen, then follow the prompts. Samsung India documents this route; labels or availability may differ elsewhere.

Check accessibility settings and third-party apps
Samsung lists accessibility settings and third-party apps among possible causes. If the problem began after installing or updating an app, use Safe mode to help determine whether a third-party app is involved.

Get service help for persistent faults
If the checks do not resolve the issue, use Samsung Members diagnostics or visit a Samsung service centre. A setting cannot be assumed to repair a damaged display panel or digitizer.

What to check when Galaxy screen colors look wrong
Color changes are not a touchscreen calibration problem. Samsung advises checking display color optimization and accessibility color correction; exact paths and labels can vary.
- Color optimization: Samsung describes this as adjusting color and white balance according to ambient brightness. Its guidance says it applies from Galaxy S24 onward, with availability varying by model. Look under Settings > Display.
- Color correction: This accessibility feature is intended to make colors easier to distinguish. Look under Settings > Accessibility.
If colors still appear abnormal after checking these settings, contact Samsung support for the device.

Samsung notes that menu names, settings, and screen layouts may vary by model and software version. Avoid treating unofficial dialer codes, third-party calibration apps, or firmware procedures as Samsung-approved fixes.
