To remove cookies from a Samsung phone, delete them in the browser that stored them. In Samsung Internet, go to Settings > Personal browsing data > Delete browsing data, select Cookies and site data, then tap Delete data and confirm. In Chrome, use Settings > Privacy and security > Delete browsing data. The steps differ because each browser manages its own stored site data.
Clear cookies in Samsung Internet
- Open Samsung Internet.
- Tap More options (the three vertical dots). Its location can vary by app version.
- Tap Settings, then Personal browsing data.
- Tap Delete browsing data.
- Select Cookies and site data. Leave other categories unchecked if you only want to clear cookies.
- Tap Delete data, then tap Delete to confirm.
Samsung’s instructions use this general menu sequence; labels or placement may vary with the app version and region. Samsung’s Galaxy Browser instructions and Samsung UK’s cookie guidance, updated 31 December 2024 describe clearing browsing data.
Choose what to delete
The deletion screen can offer other categories, including browsing history, cached images and files, passwords, and autofill data. Selecting those removes more than cookies. Check the categories before confirming so you do not delete information you intended to keep.

Samsung warns that you may need to log in to some websites again after deleting browsing data. Make sure you know the relevant sign-in details before clearing cookies.

Clear cookies in Chrome
- Open Chrome on your Samsung phone.
- Tap More, then Settings.
- Tap Privacy and security, then Delete browsing data.
- Choose a time range and select Cookies and site data. Select other categories only if you also want to remove them.
- Tap Delete data and confirm if prompted.
Google notes that clearing cookies can sign you out of websites and remove saved preferences. Its Chrome Android help page, current when accessed on 7 October 2026, also documents deleting a single site’s data.
Remove data for one site in Chrome
If a problem affects only one website, Chrome provides a narrower option than clearing cookies across the selected time range:

- Open the site in Chrome.
- Tap the page information icon to the left of the address bar.
- Open Cookies and site data.
- Delete the stored data shown for that site.
The site-specific controls can help avoid clearing data for unrelated websites. The exact options shown may depend on the site.

Deleting cookies removes data already stored; changing cookie permissions controls future behavior. In Samsung Internet, Samsung documents this route through the phone’s Settings app: Settings > Apps > Samsung Internet > Samsung Internet settings > Sites and downloads > Site permissions > Cookies. There you can allow all cookies, block third-party cookies, or block all cookies. Samsung says the available site-specific preferences may also appear in a website’s cookie prompt or management controls and vary by site.

Blocking cookies can interfere with access: Samsung UK warns that “some websites require the use of cookies. This may stop you from being able to access some websites”. Chrome also has separate third-party-cookie controls; Google cautions that blocking third-party cookies may cause some sites not to work as expected. Changing those controls does not delete cookies that are already stored.
