If your Samsung oven consistently cooks food hotter or cooler than expected, check the result with a familiar recipe, then use the temperature-adjustment control for your exact model. Samsung’s general guidance allows an adjustment of up to 35°F higher or lower, but controls and permitted ranges vary by model. Save the change and retry the recipe at its original temperature.
How to tell whether your Samsung oven needs calibration
Start with a recipe you know well. Follow it as written and compare the result with what you normally expect. A consistent difference—food repeatedly coming out overdone or underdone—may support adjusting the oven’s temperature offset. Samsung recommends returning any previous calibration setting to zero before doing this check.
Samsung says an ordinary oven thermometer is not accurate for calibration because of how the oven operates. If you want to measure temperature directly rather than use the recipe-trial method, Samsung identifies a thermocouple as the proper tool. The recipe method does not require a measuring instrument. Samsung’s oven calibration guide explains both approaches.
Find the instructions for your exact model
Locate the oven or range model number, then open its matching user manual or Samsung support page. Do not assume that another Samsung model’s button sequence applies: the available examples use different menus and controls.

These are examples from Samsung’s US range-family instructions, not universal steps for every Samsung oven or region. Consult the manual matching your model before changing a setting.
Set the offset, save it, and retest
- Decide whether the oven needs to run hotter or cooler based on the recipe trial. Use a positive adjustment for hotter and a negative adjustment for cooler.
- Open the temperature-adjustment control described in your model’s manual and enter the smallest offset that addresses the consistent difference.
- Stay within the range stated for your model. Samsung’s general guide describes adjustments up to 35°F higher or lower; the NE63*611*S* instructions specify ±35°F (±19°C). Do not assume the same limit applies to every model.
- Confirm or save the setting using your model’s controls.
- Retry the familiar recipe at its original temperature and compare the result. This lets you assess the offset without also changing the recipe temperature.
When an offset does not solve the problem
Calibration is intended to address consistent results that suggest the oven runs hotter or cooler than expected. If the same cooking method produces inconsistent results, or the maximum adjustment for your model does not help, consult Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance or contact Samsung support rather than continuing to increase the offset.

A sensor may need inspection or replacement in some cases, according to Samsung’s wall oven FAQ. Cooking symptoms alone do not establish that the sensor has failed; treat it as one possibility for troubleshooting, not a diagnosis.
