Samsung does not list a Galaxy Note phone in its current lineup. Its latest flagship range is the Galaxy S26 series, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra. That makes the Ultra a relevant current Samsung option for former Note owners, but the official materials cited here do not say the Note series has been permanently discontinued or rule out a future return.

What Samsung’s current lineup shows

Samsung’s UK Galaxy S buying guide lists models through the Galaxy S26 generation and identifies the S26 range as its latest Galaxy S release. Samsung announced the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026, with release on March 11, 2026. Samsung’s Galaxy S-series buying guide and its worldwide availability announcement describe the current range; neither lists a Note phone.

Samsung’s current security-update scope likewise lists Galaxy S-series models, including S26-series phones for monthly updates and S22-series phones for quarterly updates, but no Note model. That is evidence about the devices on the current scope list, not a model-by-model end-of-support date for every older Note. Samsung says update availability and timing can vary by model, market and network provider. Samsung Mobile Security’s scope page is the place to check the current list.

Does that mean Samsung formally discontinued Note?

Not on the evidence available here. Samsung’s current product and update lists establish that a Note-branded phone is not in the current listed lineup or security-update scope. They do not amount to a formal announcement that the series is permanently discontinued, and they do not establish whether Samsung will revive the name in the future.

#1 Best Overall
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G, 128GB, Mystic Gray - Unlocked (Renewed)
  • The Galaxy Note20 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with Full HD+ resolution and HDR10+ support, offering bright, vibrant colors and sharp detail, making it perfect for productivity, streaming, and gaming.

The careful answer is therefore: the Note is absent from Samsung’s current listed phone lineup, but a permanent discontinuation announcement is not established by these official sources. Avoid treating product-line absence as proof of a permanent decision.

What former Note owners should know about the Galaxy S26 Ultra

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is a current Samsung flagship worth considering if you are replacing an older Note. Samsung lists it within the S26 range, but the product name alone does not prove that it reproduces every Note feature. Compare the specific hardware and software functions you use rather than assuming feature parity.

Rank #2
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, 128GB, Mystic Black - Unlocked (Renewed)
  • The Galaxy Note20 Ultra features a massive 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Quad HD+ resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and HDR10+ support, offering incredibly smooth visuals, vibrant colors, and precise touch response, perfect for gaming, media, and professional work.

Samsung’s S26 Ultra buying guide says the power adapter is sold separately. Check what is included with the exact regional model and whether you need a compatible adapter before budgeting for a switch. The cited material does not establish that every Note feature, including any particular stylus arrangement, is present on the S26 Ultra.

Check support before keeping or replacing an older Note

Samsung’s support commitments differ by device and market. Samsung Mobile Security says its support has extended to up to seven years as of January 2024; “up to” is a maximum, not a guarantee for every Galaxy phone. Check the current scope for your exact model rather than applying that headline duration to all Notes.

In February 2022, Samsung announced that select Galaxy devices would receive up to four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades and up to five years of security updates. The eligible devices included select S22 and S21 models. Those commitments were tied to eligible devices, not a blanket promise for every Galaxy model. Samsung’s 2022 upgrade-policy announcement explains the program, and its policy details name eligible devices.
