To turn up the volume on a Samsung monitor, use the remote’s volume-up button if your model has one, or follow the controls in that monitor’s manual. Then check the connected computer or device: its volume, mute setting, and audio output selection can also determine whether sound reaches the monitor. Samsung monitor controls and audio features vary by model, so first find the model code and open its manual on the Samsung support page for your model.
Raise the volume using the control your model has
There is no single button sequence for every Samsung monitor. Find the model code on the monitor’s label or in its product information, then use the corresponding manual on Samsung’s model-specific support page. For example, Samsung’s Canadian support page for the M7 M70F lists its manuals and product guides; the correct page and documents depend on your model and region.
If your Smart Monitor has a remote
Press the remote’s volume-up control. Samsung’s February–March 2021 Singapore brochure describes the remote for the Smart Monitor generation it covers as a way to turn up the volume. That is evidence for those models, not a guarantee that every Samsung monitor includes a remote or uses the same controls.
Samsung’s 2022 Smart Monitor catalog describes the product family as having built-in speakers and a remote, while warning that specifications vary by model. For one specific example, the brochure lists the S32AM700 at 10W speaker output (5W × 2). That is a model-specific specification, not a loudness rating or a claim about current availability.

If your monitor uses physical controls
Use the monitor’s controls and onscreen menu as described in its manual. Button placement and menu operation can differ across models; do not assume that another Samsung monitor’s button sequence applies to yours.
Check the computer or connected device
When the monitor’s volume is high but sound is quiet or absent, check the other volume controls in the signal path. Samsung’s S-Series service manual troubleshooting guidance says to check the monitor and source-device volume and mute state, then adjust the PC sound-card or software volume if sound remains too low.

- Raise the computer’s system volume and the volume in the app playing sound.
- Make sure neither the computer, app, nor monitor is muted.
- Check that the computer is sending audio to the monitor or the relevant connected audio device. The available S-Series manual supports checking source and software volume; selecting the correct output is a practical routing check.
Check whether the connection carries audio
A picture on screen does not prove that the cable is carrying sound. In its documented S-Series context, Samsung’s service manual says audio is unavailable over DVI or HDMI-DVI and advises using HDMI or DP instead. This guidance is specific to that manual’s covered context; check your model’s manual and source-device instructions if you use another model or connection.

Confirm the monitor can play sound
Not every Samsung display has built-in speakers, and a monitor with an audio output may require compatible external speakers or headphones. Check the specifications and manual for your exact model before buying or connecting audio equipment. If the model lacks built-in speakers, use only an output and connection supported by both the monitor and your source device.

When these checks do not solve it
Use the model-specific manual to confirm the control operation, speaker capability, and supported audio connections. If the monitor should play audio but remains silent, test the source device’s audio with another compatible playback device to help distinguish a source or routing problem from a monitor-side issue. If external audio is needed, verify compatibility from the relevant manuals before choosing speakers or headphones.
