Yes. Samsung Internet Browser is free to download, according to its Galaxy Store listing. The browser includes privacy and convenience features, but optional add-ons—especially some ad blockers—may cost extra. Feature availability can also vary by device, Android version, and region.
What is free, and what might cost extra?
The Samsung Internet Browser app itself is listed as free. Some tools that work with it are separate add-on apps rather than features bundled into the browser. Samsung Support notes that some ad blockers are free while others cost money.
Samsung’s ad blocker instructions explain how to find and manage blockers in the browser. Samsung’s developer documentation clarifies that the browser does not supply content-blocking filters; users who want those filters need to install separate apps. Check the listing for an add-on before installing it to confirm whether it has a charge.

It supports ad-blocking add-ons, but the browser does not include the filtering lists itself. Samsung describes installing blocker apps and managing them through Samsung Internet. The available add-ons and their prices can change, so confirm current availability and cost in the relevant app store.

What privacy features are included?
Tracking Blocker and privacy dashboard
Samsung describes a built-in Tracking Blocker and a privacy dashboard that reports blocked content and provides access to safety settings. The dashboard may display counts for categories such as trackers and ads; those interface counts are not, by themselves, a controlled measurement of protection or effectiveness. Secret Mode
Secret Mode is intended to keep browsing activity out of the browser’s normal browsing record. Samsung’s developer documentation says it does not reveal browsing history, search history, cookies, cache, IDs and passwords, or autofill data in the normal browser context. Secret Mode bookmarks and saved pages are stored separately with encryption.

- Extensions: Samsung support describes installing add-ons through Galaxy Store. Examples in Samsung materials include password managers, translation, security, shopping assistance, and ad blocking. See Samsung’s extension installation guide.
- Video Assistant: Samsung advertises playback controls for video on supported platforms and devices.
- Customizable menus and Quick access: Samsung describes menu customization and shortcuts for frequently visited sites.
These advertised features should not be taken as a guarantee that every item appears on every Android device or in every market. Samsung’s UK and Canadian product pages describe mobile features and Galaxy-device continuity, with availability depending on platform and context.

Samsung’s published Android requirements are not fully consistent across its pages. Its Germany support guide, updated March 9, 2026, says Samsung Internet works on Galaxy phones and Android devices running Android 8.0 or later. Samsung’s developer overview lists Android 5.0 and above for its documented supported-device scope. These statements have different scopes, so neither should be treated as a universal guarantee for every device or current release.

Check the current Samsung Internet listing in the app store for your device and region before relying on a particular minimum Android version or feature. The relevant pages are Samsung’s Germany support guide and developer overview.

How to decide if it meets your needs
- Confirm that the browser is available for your device and region in the current store listing.
- Check whether the privacy controls you want—such as Tracking Blocker or Secret Mode—are present in your installed version.
- If you want ad blocking or another extension, check its availability and whether it costs extra before installing it.
- For media controls, shortcuts, or other convenience features, verify that they are supported on your device and in your market.
