Yes. Supported Samsung Galaxy Watches can measure blood oxygen (SpO₂) in Samsung Health, either as an on-demand reading or, on supported Wear OS models, during sleep. Availability depends on the watch model and regional variant, and Samsung describes this as a fitness and wellness feature—not a medical test.
Which Samsung watches can measure blood oxygen?
Samsung Australia’s support guide, last updated August 20, 2026, lists these Australian-variant devices: Galaxy Watch3, Watch4, Watch4 Classic, Watch5, Watch5 Pro, Watch6, Watch6 Classic, Watch7, Watch FE, Watch8, Watch8 Classic, Watch Ultra, Watch9, and Watch Ultra2. The guide also lists Galaxy Fit3. See Samsung Australia’s model and measurement guide.
That list is specific to Australian-variant devices, not a universal compatibility guarantee. If you have a watch bought in another country, check local Samsung support information and look for Blood Oxygen in Samsung Health on the watch.
Samsung’s developer documentation separately says its Health Sensor SDK supports Galaxy Watch4 series and later devices running Wear OS powered by Samsung, with SpO₂ among its data types. That describes developer access, not the complete consumer-facing model list. Samsung Health Sensor SDK overview.

How to check oxygen levels on the watch
- Open Samsung Health on the Galaxy Watch.
- Scroll to and select Blood Oxygen.
- Follow the on-screen instructions, then tap Measure.
- Remain still while the watch takes the reading. Samsung recommends resting for at least five minutes beforehand, with your hand on a table near heart level.
- When the measurement finishes, view the blood oxygen level and beats per minute on the watch.
For a better chance of getting a reading, wear the watch snugly on top of your wrist, not underneath it or directly over the wrist bone. Avoid moving or talking during measurement. If your hands or arms are cold, gently warm the skin and try again. Samsung’s measurement guidance for developers also emphasizes wrist position and staying still.
How to track blood oxygen during sleep
On supported Wear OS Galaxy Watches, Samsung Health can record blood oxygen during sleep. On the watch, open Samsung Health, go to Settings, and turn on Blood oxygen during sleep. Wear the watch securely overnight. The following morning, check the Sleep tile for the blood oxygen percentage or view the information in Samsung Health on the connected phone. See Samsung US’s sleep blood oxygen instructions.

What the reading can—and cannot—tell you
Samsung states that the Galaxy Watch is “not a medical/therapeutic device and is not intended for medical use.” Its blood oxygen feature is for fitness and wellness; Samsung says it is not intended to diagnose disease or other conditions, or to cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent disease. Do not treat a watch reading as a diagnosis or as a substitute for medical advice or a clinical pulse oximeter.

Blood oxygen tracking is not the same as sleep apnea monitoring
Sleep blood oxygen tracking and Samsung’s sleep apnea feature are separate functions. Samsung describes sleep apnea monitoring as using overnight blood oxygen patterns to estimate an apnea-hypopnea index and inform users of potential symptoms. Its June 5, 2025 announcement says the feature is intended for adults age 22 and older, requires monitoring over two nights, and is not intended for people previously diagnosed with sleep apnea. Compatible devices and geographic availability apply; it is not a general-purpose diagnosis or an equivalent to an on-demand oxygen check. Samsung’s sleep apnea feature announcement.
