There is no standard Galaxy Tab S12 in Samsung’s announced lineup: the S12 series consists of the 12.6-inch Galaxy Tab S12+ and 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. For someone choosing between an 11-inch tablet and the newer series, the S12+ is the closest size comparison—but it is still substantially larger than the Galaxy Tab S11.
Choose the S11 if you specifically want an 11-inch tablet. Consider the S12+ if you want a newer, larger screen; the S12 Ultra is the largest option. Compare current local prices before buying, since the published information here does not establish transaction prices or a direct performance comparison between the standard S11 and S12+.
Is there a Galaxy Tab S12?
Samsung’s announced Galaxy Tab S12 series has two models: the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. The cited lineup does not include a base model named simply “Galaxy Tab S12.” That distinction matters because the S12+ is not an 11-inch, like-for-like successor to the standard S11.

Galaxy Tab S11 vs. Tab S12+: screen size and portability
| Model | Display diagonal | What the size means |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Tab S11 | 11 inches | The compact option among these models. |
| Galaxy Tab S12+ | 12.6 inches | A larger-screen choice, not a same-size replacement for the S11. |
| Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra | 14.6 inches | The largest screen in the announced S12 series. |
Samsung’s published diagonal measurements make the S12+ the closest S12-series comparison to the 11-inch S11. The difference is still meaningful if you carry a tablet often or prefer a compact device. If a larger display is the point of upgrading, the S12+ gives you more screen area; the Ultra moves further into the large-screen tier. These screen measurements do not establish that the models are otherwise equivalent.
What the performance figures do—and do not—say
Samsung says the S12 Ultra has up to 61% faster NPU processing, 19% faster CPU performance, and 17% improved GPU power compared with the S11 Ultra. Those are Samsung’s stated comparisons between Ultra models, not independent lab benchmark results.

They should not be used to claim that the standard S12+ is those percentages faster than the standard S11. The published figures cited here do not provide a directly comparable performance result for the standard S11 versus S12+.

Choose the Galaxy Tab S11 if you want an 11-inch tablet
The standard S11 is the clear fit if an 11-inch screen is important to you. Samsung’s 2026 First Quarter Interim Report lists its resolution as 2560 × 1600 and its Wi-Fi model weight as 469 g. Those specifications are for the S11 information in that report; check the exact regional SKU before applying them to a particular configuration.

Consider the Galaxy Tab S12+ if you want a larger screen
The S12+ is the natural option if you are looking at the current S12 series and are comfortable moving up from 11 inches to 12.6 inches. It is a larger-screen alternative, not a compact S11 successor. Compare its current price in your market with the S11 before deciding; the available information does not establish launch prices, current street prices, or promotional offers.
Choose the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra only for the largest-screen tier
At 14.6 inches, the S12 Ultra is the largest of the listed models. Samsung’s performance claims apply to this Ultra model versus the S11 Ultra, so they do not settle whether an S12 Ultra is a better buy than a standard S11 or S12+.
Quick Recap
What to verify before you buy
- Confirm the model name: S11, S12+, or S12 Ultra. A base Galaxy Tab S12 is not identified in the announced lineup cited here.
- Check the display size against how you plan to carry and use the tablet.
- Compare the live price and configuration in your region. Prices, promotions, stock, and exact regional SKU equivalence are not established here.
- Check model-specific accessory compatibility. A Samsung US MSRP list effective March 2026 names an “Tab S11 Ultra Anti-Reflecting Screen Protector”; that listing does not establish compatibility with the standard S11 or S12+.
