The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G costs less in Samsung’s cited US price references and has a larger screen and higher typical battery capacity. The smaller Galaxy S26 adds a higher-tier processor, a dedicated 3x telephoto camera and 8K video recording. For the same listed storage, the reference-price gap is $250 for 128GB and $289.99 for 256GB; these are comparisons of Samsung US prices, not live checkout quotes.
Samsung Galaxy S26 vs Samsung Galaxy A57: price difference in the US
The figures below are US launch/MSRP references. Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP sheet lists unlocked S26 prices and says prices may change without notice. Samsung’s A57 announcement gives its starting price; its US purchase listing surfaced 128GB and 256GB prices, which are listed prices rather than prices independently rechecked at checkout.

The differences are arithmetic using the cited Samsung US figures, not a real-time offer check. Samsung’s S26 launch announcement says the phone starts at $899.99 and describes 256GB and 512GB launch configurations, while its separate March 2026 MSRP sheet also lists an unlocked 128GB SKU. The 128GB comparison above uses that sheet’s listing rather than the announcement’s starting-price statement. Samsung said US A57 availability begins April 9, 2026; retailer prices and availability can change.
Specs comparison: display, size and weight
The A57 gives you more screen area; the S26 is more compact and lighter. Both have FHD+ resolution, but Samsung lists different display technologies and refresh specifications.

Samsung’s display footnotes say the measured viewable area is smaller because of rounded corners; the two models’ listed screen measurements account for those corners differently.
Processor, RAM and storage
Samsung identifies the S26’s processor as Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and lists 12GB RAM. The A57’s US launch specification table lists 8GB RAM, with 128GB or 256GB storage. This is a higher-tier processor and more listed memory on the S26, but official specifications alone do not establish a measured performance difference in everyday use or demanding apps.

Configurations vary by market. Samsung’s UK A57 page lists 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB options, which should not be assumed to apply to the US. Confirm the exact regional model and storage before buying.

Choose the S26 if optical reach for distant subjects or 8K recording matters to you. The A57’s listed system instead includes a macro camera. These are specification differences, not a judgment about image quality; Samsung’s specs do not provide an independent camera comparison.
Battery capacity and charging
Samsung lists a 4,300mAh typical battery for the S26 and a 5,000mAh typical battery for the A57. Capacity is not a real-world battery-life test, so it cannot establish which phone lasts longer for a particular mix of screen time, network conditions and apps.

Durability and software support
Samsung lists both phones as IP68. The company cautions that the water-resistance rating is based on laboratory conditions and can diminish with wear. An IP rating should not be treated as a guarantee against damage in every exposure or after aging.
