The Galaxy S26 Ultra has specifications confirmed by Samsung, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max figures available for comparison are third-party listings and should be treated as reported, not official. On paper, Samsung offers a higher-resolution main display and two optical telephoto cameras; Xiaomi is listed with a rear display, a larger battery and faster charging. A meaningful price comparison depends on your country and matching storage configurations.

Samsung lists a QHD+ panel, while Xiaomi is reported to have an FHD+ main screen. That gives Samsung the higher stated pixel resolution; it does not, by itself, establish which display looks better in everyday use. Both are listed at 6.9 inches, and Xiaomi’s reported 2.9-inch rear screen is a separate feature rather than a substitute for the main panel’s resolution.

The rear screen could be useful for glanceable information or framing a selfie with the rear cameras, but the cited listing does not establish its supported functions. Consider it a hardware distinction, not proof of a particular user experience.
How the camera systems differ
Samsung’s official camera list specifies four rear cameras with distinct roles, including 3x and 5x optical telephoto options, plus a 200MP main camera. Xiaomi’s listing reports three rear camera resolutions—200MP, 200MP and 50MP—but does not establish their lens roles in the information cited here. The Xiaomi front camera is listed at 50MP versus Samsung’s 12MP.

Megapixel counts alone cannot determine photo quality. Sensor size, lens design, stabilization, image processing and performance across lighting conditions matter too. No independent camera test results are established by these specifications, so they are not enough to declare a camera winner.

Samsung lists a 5,000mAh battery. Gadgets 360 reports 8,500mAh for Xiaomi, along with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. If confirmed, those are substantial differences in listed capacity and charging rates, but they do not show how long either phone lasts in real use or how quickly it charges in all conditions. Screen-on time and charging performance require comparable testing; capacity alone cannot predict them.

Processor, software and support questions
Samsung lists the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. Xiaomi’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Android 17 with HyperOS 4 are reported by Gadgets 360, not confirmed by an official Xiaomi source in the cited material. Chip names do not establish sustained performance, heat management or battery efficiency; comparable independent testing would be needed for those judgments.
A software version listing is not a software-support commitment. The cited material does not establish Xiaomi’s update duration, and the figures presented here do not provide a like-for-like update-support comparison. Check the manufacturer’s current support terms for the exact regional model before buying.

Price difference: compare the same market and storage
PhoneArena reports US Samsung MSRP tiers of $1,300 for 256GB, $1,500 for 512GB and $1,800 for 1TB, and a Xiaomi starting listing of €920. These figures were accessed in 2026. They use different currencies and do not identify equivalent storage configurations, so subtracting one from another would not produce a meaningful price difference.

| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 1TB | $1,800 | US MSRP reported by PhoneArena |
| Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, starting listing | €920 | Starting figure reported by PhoneArena; official regional MSRP and storage tier are not established |
These are reported reference figures, not a live quote or a same-market comparison. PhoneArena’s comparison page is dynamically maintained, so prices and availability may change.
Best Value
- 6.8" Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to ~1750 nits brightness, HDR10+ support, and ultra-smooth responsiveness for gaming and scrolling.
Availability also needs a country-specific check. Gadgets 360 lists a September 23, 2026 release date for Xiaomi but says the phone was not launched in India. A listed release date therefore should not be read as proof that the model is officially sold in every market.
What to check before choosing
- Display: Choose based on the higher stated QHD+ resolution or whether Xiaomi’s reported rear display would be useful to you.
- Camera: Compare optical zoom needs and wait for camera tests that evaluate image quality, not megapixel totals alone.
- Battery: Treat Xiaomi’s larger reported capacity and charging rates as specification claims, not proof of longer endurance.
- Performance and updates: Verify the Xiaomi chipset and software details with an official regional source, and check update-support terms for both exact models.
- Price and ownership: Compare local prices for the same storage tier, then verify warranty coverage, network-band compatibility and whether the phone is officially available in your country.
If you need confirmed specifications now, Samsung’s official product announcement is the firmer basis for a decision. Xiaomi may look compelling on the reported battery, charging and rear-display figures, but make a purchase decision only after confirming those specifications, local availability, warranty and same-market pricing.
