The Galaxy S25+ is the Samsung flagship for people who want a large, sharp display and more charging headroom than the base S25 without moving up to the Ultra. Its 6.7-inch QHD+ screen and Snapdragon 8 Elite make it a polished all-rounder; its familiar camera hardware is the main reason to pause before paying the Plus premium.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus review: the verdict
The S25+ is a good fit if screen size, resolution, speed and battery capacity matter more to you than getting Samsung’s most advanced cameras. It combines flagship performance with a high-resolution 120Hz display and 45W wired charging. The trade-off is that the rear camera arrangement is not a major step beyond the previous generation, and it lacks the Ultra’s S Pen and anti-reflective Gorilla Armor glass.
That leaves the Plus in a narrow but useful middle ground: it is more comfortable for viewing and charging than the smaller S25, while the S25 Ultra is the more compelling Samsung option for camera features. Whether the S25+ is worth buying depends on whether its larger, sharper screen is worth the price difference to you.
What the Galaxy S25+ gets right
A large, detailed display
Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 1–120Hz refresh rate. Samsung notes that the visible diagonal is 6.5 inches when rounded corners and the camera opening are accounted for. The screen is the clearest reason to choose the Plus over the base S25, whose display is FHD+ according to TechRadar’s comparison.

Flagship speed and long software support
The specification listing from GSMArena identifies a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 12GB of RAM and Android 15 with One UI 7. It lists support for up to seven major Android upgrades. That is Samsung’s stated upgrade commitment as represented in the listing, not a promise that every future software feature will be available on this model.
TechRadar described its tested S25+ as one of the best-performing phones it had tested, while noting that benchmark standing does not necessarily translate into an obvious everyday difference. For ordinary use, the practical appeal is smooth flagship-class performance rather than a reason to upgrade from a recent fast phone.

- 6.7‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display (3120 × 1440) with adaptive 1‑120 Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — providing a large, sharp, and very bright screen.
Good battery capacity and faster charging than the base model
Samsung lists a 4,900mAh typical battery capacity and cautions that real battery life varies with network conditions and use. In TechRadar’s review, the phone lasted 18 hours 45 minutes in its battery rundown; the reviewer also said their sample lasted a full day of mixed work and play. Those are observations from that outlet’s test and sample, not a runtime guarantee. Battery results depend on test method and how the phone is used.

TechRadar contrasts this with 25W charging on the base S25 and notes that some OnePlus rivals charge faster. Samsung recommends its original 45W Power Adapter and data cable for the S25+; Samsung says the adapter and cable are sold separately. You do not need to buy that specific accessory if you already have compatible charging equipment that meets your needs.

- Triple‑rear camera system: 50 MP main (wide) + 12 MP ultra‑wide + 10 MP telephoto (3× optical zoom), plus a 12 MP front camera — capable of high‑quality photos and 8K / 4K video recording.
- 4,900 mAh battery with 45 W wired fast charging, 15 W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging — giving solid all‑day battery life and flexible charging options.
- Built with premium materials (glass + aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass Victus 2), IP68 water/dust resistance, and includes long‑term support: Android 15 with One UI 7, and Samsung’s promise of up to 7 years of OS/security updates.
Where the S25+ falls short
Camera hardware is competent, not an Ultra substitute
GSMArena lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 10MP telephoto camera with optical image stabilization and 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP, 120-degree ultrawide camera. The front camera is 12MP. GSMArena also flags that the ultrawide camera lacks autofocus, limiting its flexibility for close-up subjects.
TechRadar characterizes the main-camera hardware on the S25 and S25+ as similar to the prior generation and points camera-first buyers toward the Ultra for Samsung’s strongest camera features. The S25+ still offers a dedicated 3x telephoto lens, but it does not have the Ultra’s broader zoom hardware. The difference matters most if you often shoot distant subjects or want the more capable camera system; it may matter less for everyday photos in conditions where the main camera is sufficient.

- 6.7‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display (3120 × 1440) with adaptive 1‑120 Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — providing a large, sharp, and very bright screen.
Some Ultra features are reserved for the Ultra
The S25+ does not include the S25 Ultra’s S Pen or its anti-reflective Gorilla Armor glass. Those omissions are worth weighing if you want stylus input or prioritize reducing reflections. The larger Ultra also costs more, so these features are not a free upgrade.

| Phone | Display and charging | Camera and extras | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S25 | Smaller FHD+ screen and 25W charging, according to TechRadar’s comparison. | Less expensive than the Plus; no separate comparison of camera hardware is established here. | Choose it if you prefer a smaller phone and can accept the lower display resolution and slower charging. |
| Galaxy S25+ | 6.7-inch QHD+ display with 1–120Hz refresh rate; 45W wired charging. | 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide without autofocus, and 10MP 3x telephoto. | Choose it for a large, high-resolution Samsung screen and stronger charging without paying for Ultra-specific camera hardware and S Pen. |
| Galaxy S25 Ultra | Larger device and higher price than the S25+, according to TechRadar’s comparison. | More advanced camera hardware, including 3x and 5x telephoto modules in TechRadar’s comparison, plus S Pen and anti-reflective Gorilla Armor glass. | Compare it if camera versatility, stylus support or anti-reflective glass is important enough to justify the added cost and size. |
These are practical differences, not a guarantee that every user will see a meaningful photographic gap in every situation. Subject distance, light and shooting habits affect which camera advantages are useful.

Price and availability depend on market and date
TechRadar’s review-era starting price for the 256GB S25+ was $999 in the US, £999 in the UK and AU$1,699 in Australia. Those are review-period figures, not current quotes. Samsung’s US product page displayed $999.99 for the unlocked 256GB configuration when accessed on October 7, 2026, while its 512GB selection was shown as out of stock. That is a dated US store snapshot; it does not establish current prices or availability in other regions or at third-party retailers. Check the Samsung listing for your market before deciding.
Quick Recap
Who should buy the Galaxy S25+?
- Choose the S25+ if you want a large QHD+ display, flagship performance and 45W charging, and you do not need the Ultra’s S Pen or more advanced zoom system.
- Consider the S25 instead if a smaller phone and lower price matter more than screen resolution and charging speed.
- Compare the S25 Ultra if you regularly use telephoto cameras, want the S Pen or value its anti-reflective display glass.
- Look beyond the S25 family if fast charging or battery performance is your main priority; TechRadar assessed the OnePlus 13 favorably on those points, though that assessment reflects its review and testing rather than a universal result.
