The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the larger, higher-resolution flagship, with two optical-zoom telephoto cameras and a published seven-year software-support commitment. The OPPO Reno16 5G configuration covered here is the India-market CPH2865: it is lighter, has a higher-capacity battery and faster rated charging, and costs ₹66,999 for 8GB+256GB in OPPO India’s pricing dated 31 August 2026. These are different-market prices, so they do not establish a direct price difference.
Which phones does this comparison cover?
This comparison pairs Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra with the OPPO Reno16 5G model CPH2865 sold in India. OPPO says Reno16 models in other countries can have different specifications and prices. Check the model number and local product page before applying the Reno16 details below to a phone sold elsewhere.
The specifications are manufacturer-published. They describe hardware and stated commitments, not comparative test results: no independent head-to-head assessment of camera quality, speed, or battery endurance is established here.

What the specification differences mean
Display and handling
Samsung lists a 6.9-inch QHD+ screen, while OPPO lists a 16.05cm FHD+ screen with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The S25 Ultra is also heavier at 218g; OPPO lists the India Reno16 at about 182–193g depending on color. These figures point to a larger, heavier Samsung device and a lighter Reno16, but do not by themselves establish comfort or display quality in everyday use.
Camera hardware and zoom
The S25 Ultra has a 200MP main camera and two telephoto cameras with 3x and 5x optical zoom. The Reno16 has three 50MP rear cameras, including a 3.5x optical telephoto, and a 50MP autofocus front camera. Megapixel counts and zoom specifications describe camera hardware; they are not a controlled comparison of image quality.

Battery and charging
OPPO lists a 6,700mAh typical battery (6,490mAh rated) and 80W SUPERVOOC charging for the India Reno16. Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery and wired charging up to 45W for the S25 Ultra. Capacity and charging ratings alone cannot predict how long either phone lasts or how quickly it charges in real use. OPPO India says the charger is included; Samsung’s cited package guidance says its adapter is sold separately. Box contents can vary by region.

Samsung announced seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the Galaxy S25 series’ global launch. OPPO India’s Reno16 product page does not state a matching support duration, so the available information does not support a like-for-like commitment comparison. Samsung highlights a titanium frame and Corning Gorilla Armor 2; OPPO lists IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for the India model. These are different kinds of product attributes, not a direct durability test.

What is the price difference?
A defensible price difference is not available from the cited prices because they are for different countries and configurations. Samsung US advertises the Galaxy S25 Ultra from $1,299.99 before trade-in; that listing was accessed on 7 October 2026 and may not reflect a current or locally available price. OPPO India lists the Reno16 5G at ₹66,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹72,999 for 12GB+256GB, with prices stated as correct on 31 August 2026 and subject to change.
| Phone and market | Configuration or price basis | Listed price | Price qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S25 Ultra (US) | Starting price, before trade-in | $1,299.99 | Samsung US listing accessed 7 October 2026; freshness is limited |
| Reno16 5G (India) | 8GB+256GB | ₹66,999 | OPPO says correct as of 31 August 2026; subject to change |
| Reno16 5G (India) | 12GB+256GB | ₹72,999 | OPPO says correct as of 31 August 2026; subject to change |

Do not subtract the US dollar price from the India rupee price or treat the result as a meaningful saving. To compare prices, use the same country, date, storage tier, tax treatment, and trade-in assumptions.

Which one should you choose?
- Consider the Galaxy S25 Ultra if its larger QHD+ display, 3x and 5x optical telephoto cameras, or stated seven-generation OS and seven-year security support fit your priorities.
- Consider the India Reno16 5G if you prefer the lighter listed weight, its larger stated battery capacity, 80W charging, or its India-market 8GB+256GB or 12GB+256GB configuration.
These are choices based on published specifications, not a verdict about which phone takes better photos, performs faster, or lasts longer between charges.
