The 256GB Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is listed at $1,099.99 in Samsung’s US March 2026 MSRP, while the 256GB Galaxy A57 is listed at $609.99 on Samsung’s US purchase page—a $490 difference at the same storage capacity. The Edge’s published specifications emphasize a thinner, lighter build and a sharper display; the A57 costs less and has a larger stated battery capacity. Those figures describe specifications and listed prices, not measured camera quality or battery life.

US price difference: $490 for 256GB

For an apples-to-apples storage comparison, Samsung’s March 2026 US MSRP lists the unlocked 256GB Galaxy S25 Edge at $1,099.99, and Samsung’s US A57 purchase page lists the 256GB model at $609.99. The difference between those listed prices is $490. The MSRP is a list price, not a guaranteed checkout price; promotions, stock, and regional pricing can differ.

Display, size, and handling

Both phones have a 6.7-inch display measured across the full rectangle and support refresh rates up to 120Hz. The distinction is resolution and panel type: Samsung lists QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X for the S25 Edge and FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus for the A57. The published specifications therefore favor the Edge for display resolution, while the shared size and maximum refresh rate do not make the screens identical.

The S25 Edge is 5.8mm thick and weighs 163g; the A57 is 6.9mm thick and 179g. On those dimensions, the Edge is 1.1mm thinner and 16g lighter. These measurements establish a difference in physical size and weight, not how comfortable either phone will feel to every user.

Camera hardware: pixel counts are not a quality test

The Edge has a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside a 12MP ultra-wide camera. The A57 has a 50MP stabilized main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide, and an additional 5MP macro camera. Both list a 12MP front camera.

The Edge’s higher main-camera pixel count does not, by itself, establish that it takes better photos. Sensor and image processing, lighting, and other factors affect results; the specifications cited here are not controlled head-to-head camera tests. The A57’s macro camera is a distinct extra lens, but its presence alone does not establish comparative image quality.

Samsung lists typical battery capacity as 3,900mAh for the S25 Edge and 5,000mAh for the A57. Samsung also gives the Edge’s rated minimum capacity as 3,786mAh. Typical capacity is not a runtime measurement: these figures cannot show which phone lasts longer in everyday use without comparable testing under the same conditions.

Software support and what the sources establish

Samsung’s A57 UK product page states support for up to six OS upgrades. The cited S25 Edge source does not provide a comparable support-duration figure, so these sources do not establish which phone receives longer software support. The A57 support statement is from Samsung’s UK product page; confirm local-market terms before relying on it for a purchase.

What comes in the box

Samsung’s US A57 purchase page says the box includes the smartphone, a data cable, and an ejection pin, with no charger included. Which one fits your priorities?

  • Choose based on price: At the cited US 256GB listings, the A57 costs $490 less. Compare current offers in the same country and storage tier before buying.
  • Prioritize a thin, light design or higher display resolution: The S25 Edge has the lower listed thickness and weight, plus a QHD+ panel.
  • Prioritize stated battery capacity or a macro camera: The A57 lists a 5,000mAh typical battery and includes a 5MP macro camera.
  • Deciding by camera or battery life: Published megapixels and battery capacity are not substitutes for comparable tests. The specifications here alone cannot determine which phone takes better photos or lasts longer.

This is a specification and listed-price comparison, not a hands-on review or independent test. Samsung’s specification and price claims do not establish comparative performance, real-world battery life, or camera results.
