The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is a strikingly thin, light flagship with a large, smooth display and a capable 200MP main camera. Its slim design comes with real trade-offs: modest battery endurance, 25W wired charging and no dedicated telephoto camera. Choose it if thinness is your top priority; for a more practical all-rounder, compare its current local price with the Galaxy S25+ before buying.

What the Galaxy S25 Edge gets right

A genuinely slim, light large-screen phone

Samsung lists the S25 Edge at 5.8mm thick and 163g, with dimensions of 75.6 × 158.2 × 5.8mm. That is unusually thin and light for a phone with a 6.7-inch display. The Guardian’s Samuel Gibbs likewise found it easier to hold than other large handsets, while noting that a case largely erases the slimness advantage. The camera bump also makes the phone thicker at the rear than its headline measurement suggests. Samsung’s specifications and The Guardian’s review describe the design and handling.

A large, sharp, smooth display

The display is a 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate. Samsung measures the screen as 6.7 inches across the full rectangle, or 6.5 inches accounting for rounded corners. SamMobile identifies the display as a strength; its size and refresh rate make the Edge well suited to reading, video and scrolling. Samsung’s specifications and SamMobile’s review provide the relevant details.

Strong main-camera detail and flagship-class performance

The rear camera system pairs a 200MP main camera with a 12MP ultrawide. SamMobile praises the main camera for regular photography, and Tom’s Guide reports good low-light results in its comparison. Tom’s Guide also found the Snapdragon 8 Elite and 12GB of RAM handled demanding use smoothly. Those are reviewer assessments, not a guarantee of identical results in every app or workload. SamMobile and Tom’s Guide discuss the cameras and performance.

Where the compromises matter

Battery life is the clearest weakness

The S25 Edge has a 3,900mAh battery. In Tom’s Guide’s adaptive-refresh battery benchmark, the phone averaged 12 hours and 24 minutes. That is one outlet’s controlled test result, not a promise of daily runtime; screen brightness, signal strength, apps and usage can change how long a charge lasts. Tom’s Guide recorded 27% charge after 15 minutes and 54% after 30 minutes in its charging test. The phone’s wired charging is capped at 25W, which is a drawback if quick top-ups matter to you. SamMobile also calls battery life the phone’s weakest feature. Tom’s Guide’s tests and SamMobile’s review cover these limitations.

No dedicated telephoto camera

The Edge has no separate optical telephoto camera. You can still zoom by cropping into the 200MP main camera’s image, but that is not the same as having a dedicated telephoto lens, particularly when you want more flexible zoom options. Tom’s Guide’s comparison highlights the Edge’s digital-zoom weakness against a phone with telephoto cameras. If zoom photography is important, the Edge’s thinness may not compensate for the missing lens. Tom’s Guide and SamMobile describe the camera system.

A case can undermine the main attraction

A protective case adds bulk to a phone whose central appeal is its unusually thin profile. The Guardian notes that a case largely removes the thickness advantage. The choice is a trade-off: decide whether you would carry the phone bare or accept a thicker feel for added protection.

Tom’s Guide and GSMArena point to the S25+ for buyers who value longer battery life, faster wired charging and a telephoto camera more than an ultra-slim body. The S25 Ultra is another option if zoom and additional features matter most, but it is bulkier. GSMArena’s review and Tom’s Guide’s review discuss these alternatives.

Should you buy the Galaxy S25 Edge?

It makes sense if

  • A very thin, light phone is more important to you than maximum battery life.
  • You want a large, high-resolution display and a high-resolution main camera.
  • You rarely rely on a dedicated telephoto camera and are comfortable with digital cropping for occasional zoom.
  • Its current price is close enough to the S25+ that the form factor justifies the differences for you.

Look at the S25+ or another model if

  • You want longer battery endurance, faster wired charging or a dedicated telephoto camera.
  • You expect to use a case and would rather not pay extra for a slimness benefit that the case diminishes.
  • The S25+ costs less where you are and better fits your everyday priorities.
