The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G trade different strengths: Samsung specifies a 3x optical telephoto camera and seven years of security updates, while TECNO lists a 144Hz display, a 6,500mAh battery and 45W wired charging. In an India price snapshot, the TECNO listing was ₹10,000 higher, but the phones were listed by different retailers and storage parity was not confirmed. The better fit depends on which features and current local price matter most.
How do the Galaxy S24 FE and POVA 8 Pro compare?
| Specification | Samsung Galaxy S24 FE | TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G |
|---|---|---|

| Front camera | 10MP | 13MP |
| Processor | Exynos 2400e, 4nm | MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G, 4nm, up to 2.6GHz |
| Battery and wired charging | 4,700mAh; up to 25W wired charging. 25W adapter sold separately. | 6,500mAh; 45W Super Charge |

These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not a controlled comparison of image quality, screen performance, battery life or processor speed. The display names and numbers do not establish which screen looks better, and battery capacity and charging ratings alone do not show how long a phone lasts or how quickly it charges in everyday use. Samsung’s listed support commitment is the clearer long-term promise in the cited material; TECNO’s page does not give a comparable duration.
Which phone has the better camera?
For camera versatility on paper, Samsung has the more complete rear-camera setup. Alongside a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), it lists a 12MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. TECNO lists a 50MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide, but no telephoto camera on its official specifications page.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsA dedicated telephoto lens gives the Galaxy S24 FE a listed optical zoom option that the POVA 8 Pro’s published camera lineup does not show. That difference does not prove Samsung produces better photos overall: the supplied specifications do not provide comparable camera tests. For selfies, TECNO lists a higher-resolution 13MP front camera versus Samsung’s 10MP, but megapixel count alone does not determine selfie quality.

Which has the bigger screen and higher refresh rate?
TECNO lists the larger display and higher maximum refresh rate: 6.78 inches and up to 144Hz, compared with Samsung’s 6.7 inches and adaptive 60Hz or 120Hz. TECNO also publishes a 2644 × 1208 resolution; Samsung lists FHD+ at 2340 × 1080. Samsung names its screen Dynamic AMOLED 2X, while TECNO calls its panel HyperLux AMOLED.
Those specifications help identify the phones’ stated screen sizes, resolutions and refresh-rate options, but they do not settle brightness, color calibration or viewing quality. TECNO also says its PUBG MOBILE 144FPS Ultra Extreme option was expected through a future major update by October 2026. The reviewed product information does not confirm that rollout, so buyers should verify current game support rather than assume the mode is available.
Rank #2
- The Galaxy S24 FE packs a large 6.7‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate, enhanced brightness and a “Vision Booster” mode — ideal for clear, bright visuals even outdoors.
Does TECNO’s larger battery mean longer battery life?
TECNO lists a 6,500mAh battery, versus 4,700mAh for Samsung. It also lists 45W Super Charge, compared with Samsung’s up-to-25W wired charging; Samsung notes that its 25W adapter is sold separately. These are capacity and rated-charging differences, not independent battery-life or charging-speed results. Real-world endurance and charging time cannot be determined from the figures alone.
TECNO says its laboratory tests found at least 80% battery capacity after 2,000 complete charge cycles, describing that as approximately six years in its stated scenario. This is a manufacturer lab claim, not an independent result; TECNO notes that performance varies.

Which phone has the longer software-support commitment?
Samsung’s 2024 announcement promises the Galaxy S24 FE seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. TECNO’s specifications page identifies the POVA 8 Pro 5G as running HiOS 16 based on Android 16, but does not state a comparable support duration. That means Samsung has the more clearly documented commitment in these sources; it does not establish that TECNO provides no updates.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is the price difference?
A 91mobiles India comparison page displayed the Galaxy S24 FE at ₹39,999 at Amazon and the TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G at ₹49,999 at Flipkart when accessed in 2026. The arithmetic difference between those displayed listings is ₹10,000, with TECNO higher. This is a snapshot, not a like-for-like price comparison: the retailers differ, the page excerpt does not confirm matching storage variants, and current offers may change the amounts. Check the live listings for the same memory configuration and account for discounts or bank offers before deciding.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy S24 FE if a listed 3x optical telephoto camera and Samsung’s stated seven-year security-update commitment are priorities.
- Consider the POVA 8 Pro 5G if its higher stated refresh-rate options, larger battery capacity or 45W charging specification better match your priorities.
- Compare local prices before buying. The India listings above use different retailers and do not establish the phones’ inherent price gap or a global price difference.
The processor names and fabrication figures do not establish which phone performs better; the cited specifications provide no comparable independent benchmark. Choose on the features you can verify and use, rather than treating a specification-sheet difference as a real-world test result.
