The Samsung Galaxy S23 5G is the better fit if you want a compact phone and a dedicated 3× optical-zoom camera. The Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 gives you a larger display, a much bigger stated battery and faster advertised wired charging. There is no dependable current, like-for-like India price difference established for the two phones, so compare live listings for the same storage, condition and warranty before deciding.
How the key specifications compare
| Feature | Samsung Galaxy S23 5G | Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 5 |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X | 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate |
| Rear cameras | 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto with 3× optical zoom | 50MP Sony IMX882 main with OIS/EIS, 8MP ultrawide |
| Front camera | 12MP | 20MP |
| Battery capacity | 3900mAh typical | 7540mAh |
| Wired charging | 25W, as listed by 91mobiles | 100W HyperCharge; Xiaomi says it reaches 51% in approximately 30 minutes |
Specifications are from Samsung’s India Galaxy S23 specifications and Xiaomi India’s Redmi Turbo 5 product page and FAQ. Capacity, megapixels and charging ratings do not by themselves establish real-world endurance, photo quality or charging time in every use condition.
Which phone is better for your priorities?
Choose the Galaxy S23 for a smaller phone and optical zoom
At 6.1 inches, the S23 has the smaller listed screen, making it the more natural choice if you prefer a compact handset. Its dedicated 10MP telephoto camera is also the clearest hardware distinction for zoom photography: Samsung specifies 3× optical zoom. That does not establish that the S23 takes better photos overall, but it gives you a dedicated telephoto lens absent from the Turbo 5’s listed rear-camera setup.
Choose the Redmi Turbo 5 for screen area, battery capacity and charging speed
The Turbo 5’s 6.59-inch display gives you more viewing area, while its listed 7540mAh battery is substantially larger than the S23’s 3900mAh typical battery. Xiaomi also advertises 100W HyperCharge and says the phone can charge to 51% in approximately 30 minutes. That timing is Xiaomi’s manufacturer claim, not an independently established comparison test. Actual battery life and charging results depend on use and conditions.
#1 Best Overall
- Galaxy S23 sports a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X flat display with adaptive 48–120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a peak brightness high enough for strong outdoor visibility — giving you vibrant, crisp visuals and smooth motion while staying compact.
Do not pick on front-camera megapixels alone
Xiaomi lists a 20MP front camera and Samsung lists a 12MP one. Those numbers describe resolution, not the overall quality of selfies, video or image processing, so they are not enough to call one camera better.
What is the price difference in India?
A reliable current price difference cannot be stated from the available comparison-page snapshots: the pages show differing prices and do not consistently identify matching storage variants, sellers, condition, stock and warranty status. Treat those snapshots as evidence that listings vary, not as a live, like-for-like deal comparison. To calculate the difference, compare current offers for the same RAM and storage configuration where possible, and check whether each listing is new, covered by a valid warranty and in stock.
Rank #2
- It offers a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 48-120 Hz refresh rate plus up to ~ 1750 nits peak brightness and “Vision Booster,” meaning the screen stays bright and viewable even in strong sunlight — great if you use your phone outdoors a lot.
For context only, Samsung announced India launch prices on February 2, 2023, of ₹74,999 for the Galaxy S23 8GB/128GB and ₹79,999 for the 8GB/256GB. These are historical launch prices, not current offers; see Samsung Newsroom India’s launch announcement. The comparison pages from 91mobiles, Gadgets Now and MySmartPrice do not provide a consistent basis for a current price verdict.

Verdict: choose by size and camera flexibility, not an unverified price gap
Pick the Galaxy S23 if compact size and a dedicated 3× optical-zoom camera matter most. Pick the Redmi Turbo 5 if you prefer a larger screen, higher stated battery capacity and faster advertised wired charging. The available evidence does not settle which phone costs less today in a fair India comparison; make that call only after checking current listings for matching variants and terms.
