The Samsung Galaxy S23 5G is the smaller option with the higher-tier listed chipset, while the India-market OPPO Reno16 5G offers a larger display, more listed battery capacity, faster wired charging and twice the listed storage. A marketplace comparison snapshot showed the S23 ₹14,000 cheaper, but it compared 128GB with 256GB and should not be treated as a current like-for-like quote. This Reno16 comparison is specifically for India model CPH2865; OPPO says specifications and prices can differ in other countries.

The comparison-page specifications are from 91mobiles’ comparison. OPPO’s official India page specifies the Reno16 display, cameras and battery details, including the typical and rated battery capacities and 80W charging. What do the differences mean for choosing?
Pick the S23 if a smaller phone or its listed chipset matters more
The S23’s listed 6.1-inch display is smaller than the Reno16’s 6.32-inch display. The comparison also lists Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the S23 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for the Reno16. That identifies the chipsets, but it does not establish a real-world speed or benchmark advantage under a particular workload.

The Reno16 has a larger display, 256GB in the cited comparison, and a much higher listed battery capacity and wired charging rate. OPPO’s figures specify battery capacity and charging support; they do not establish how long either phone lasts in a given person’s use or how quickly it charges in practice.

Both phones list a 50MP main rear camera. The Reno16 lists higher megapixel counts for its ultrawide, telephoto and front cameras, while the S23’s telephoto specification lists up to 3x and Reno16’s up to 3.5x. Those are hardware specifications, not evidence by themselves of better photos or video.

What should you check before buying the India Reno16?
OPPO’s India product details state that the CPH2865 does not support storage card expansion, NFC or eSIM. Verify these requirements against your intended use before choosing it.
