The vivo X300 FE is the newer, more capable-on-paper choice: its listed specifications include a newer chipset, larger battery, faster wired charging and higher internal-storage options. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G still offers a larger screen and microSD expansion in the cited Samsung configuration. There is no reliable single price difference without choosing a country, storage variant and currently available seller.
How these phones compare at a glance
This is a comparison across generations, not two phones launched together. 91mobiles lists the Galaxy S20 FE 5G release date as 31 March 2021 and the vivo X300 FE date as 14 May 2026; those dates are the comparison publisher’s chronology, not manufacturer launch records. The Samsung specifications below are for a Colombia 6 GB/128 GB variant, while vivo details come from official regional pages, principally India and the Philippines.

What changes in everyday hardware?
Performance, RAM and storage
The X300 FE’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is a much newer listed platform than the S20 FE 5G’s Snapdragon 865 5G. The official specification pages establish the chip names and, for vivo, a 3 nm process; they do not provide matched benchmarks, so they do not establish a particular performance gap in games or apps.

The cited Samsung Colombia model has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage, with microSD support up to 1 TB. vivo lists 256 GB and 512 GB storage tiers, paired with 8 GB or 12 GB RAM in India and 12 GB RAM in the Philippines. The trade-off is straightforward: Samsung supports removable-card expansion, while the vivo configurations provide more listed built-in storage but no expandable ROM. Check the exact local SKU before buying.
Screen size and phone footprint
Samsung’s stated 6.5-inch diagonal makes its display larger than vivo’s 6.31-inch panel. The vivo is shorter, narrower and thinner on the published dimensions, but weighs 191 g versus 190 g for the cited Samsung model. Diagonal size and resolution alone do not establish which screen looks better; choose based on whether you prefer a larger viewing area or a smaller body, and assess refresh rate and panel quality in person when possible.

Cameras: compare the hardware, not just megapixels
The Samsung has a 12 MP main, 12 MP ultrawide and 8 MP telephoto camera, with optical 3× telephoto and up to 30× digital zoom listed. vivo specifies a 50 MP OIS main camera, 50 MP OIS telephoto and 8 MP wide camera, plus a 50 MP front camera; Samsung lists a 32 MP front camera. These figures describe resolution and modules, not matched photo or video results. Megapixels alone cannot establish which phone takes better pictures, especially across different lenses and processing systems.

Battery, charging and durability
vivo lists a 6,500 mAh typical capacity and 6,350 mAh rated capacity, compared with Samsung’s 4,500 mAh typical figure. vivo also lists up to 90 W FlashCharge when using the original charger and cable. These are specification comparisons, not battery-life or charging-time tests; real endurance depends on use, network conditions and settings.
Both phones have published water and dust resistance claims, but the ratings and stated testing conditions differ. IP ratings should not be treated as permission for intentional water exposure; damage, wear and local warranty terms may affect coverage.

What is the price difference?
There is no defensible universal price difference in the available listings because the figures refer to different markets, configurations, sources and stock conditions.

Should you upgrade from the Galaxy S20 FE 5G?
The vivo X300 FE is the stronger fit if
- You want a newer listed processor and higher built-in storage tiers.
- You value the larger stated battery capacity and faster listed wired charging.
- You prefer a shorter, narrower phone with a dedicated 50 MP telephoto camera.
- You want the software version listed on vivo’s current regional product pages, while checking support commitments separately.
Keeping or choosing the Samsung may make sense if
- You want the larger 6.5-inch display.
- MicroSD expansion matters more than a larger internal-storage tier.
- You can find the S20 FE 5G in good condition at a substantially lower current local price, with acceptable warranty and carrier compatibility.
An upgrade is not automatically worthwhile because the vivo’s specifications are newer. Compare the same-country price and warranty, exact RAM/storage configuration, actual camera samples and video reviews, observed battery endurance, software-support commitments, device condition and carrier-band compatibility. The cited Samsung comparison listing is out of stock, so its listed price should not be treated as a current offer.
